Default Beatles Supergroup

Suppose the Beatles decided to form a supergroup. We have the Beatles themselves, plus four more people. Since this would never happen, choose anyone dead or alive. And yes, I know they were fine by themselves, but just for fun.

John, Paul, George, Ringo
Jimi Hendrix
Eric Clapton
Mick Jagger
Gerry Marsden

Well, we can't surpass the Beatles anyway but if I had the choice:
John, Paul, George, Ringo
Eric Clapton
Santana
Bob Dylan
Sting
and "of course: Britney"

Billy Preston for keyboards
And Dusty Springfield and Aretha (sp?) Franklin, to add vocals/female talent.

I'm game...how about:
The Fabs
Michael Palin
Eric Idle
Grahm Chapman
John Cleese
Terry Jones
and call it:
Sgt . Peppers Flying Circus!
Think of such timeless collaborations as:
The Dead Blackbird!
The Semaphore Version of Revolution 9!
But I digress...

I would make a "supporting band" for The Beatles talent. With "just a bunch of friends", they like to work like that. So let's say

John Lennon - guitar, keyboards, vocals
Paul McCartney - bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, vocals
George Harrison - guitar, bass guitar, vocals
Ringo Starr - drums, percussion, vocals

plus

Billy Preston - keyboards
Eric Clapton - guitars
Denny Laine - guitars
Jim Keltner - drums, percussion

"Just The Beatles" is OK with me.

I go with this lineup as well, SF. As great as Jimi was, I don't see a fit. I like the idea of female voices by Dusty and Aretha, searing guitar by Clapton and Billy's keyboards (proven).

Have the Fabs play with New Kids On The Block, then the ridiculous comparisons would be quickly snuffed out. The real band would have the fake one reeling!!
