Default Is Home....

Where you live or do you regard it as somewhere different. Is home wherever you lay your hat?

When I was younger, I thought home is where my stuff is.
Now it's where my family is, which happens to be the house
where I grew up.

Home is where my sisters and parents are, so home is my house, yes.

Home is where, when you come home from vacation, you smile when you land.

For me it is hard because I grew up on the otherside of the world from where I live now. So that is sort of home but my home is also here....all very confusing.

I find that when I am in the UK and I talk about NZ I say "home" and mean NZ and when I am in NZ and talk about the UK I say "home" and mean London! So for me, sometimes home is where I'm not!

Hmmmmmm that doesn't really make sense heheheheee!

Like Harb said, home is where the heart is. For me home is where I live with my fiancé since 7 years, but also my parents' house where I grew up. Although I haven't lived there myself for several years, it still feels like coming home, when I go there. So for me, home is where my family is.

I grew up in Philadelphia and when I went away for school and started working, I always still considered it home. Now that I have a family, my idea of home has changed a bit. Philly is more my roots than my home. My home is where my kids are growing up. Now as for my "home teams", its still and always will be the Philadelphia teams!

Home is where you are loved and where your heart is at a particular time.

I refer to my hometown as 'back home', but when I leave work, I say that I'm 'going home', but I don't mean my hometown. I don't know what 'home' is.

Home is my space, I guess. But home is also the area of the world where I grew up.

I'm children of immigrants, so to me home is where you are safe and sound, no matter if you were born there or not.

This topic made me think about a project Kate Moennig has undertaken very recently. The ladies frm the L Word opened a website called OurChart and each cast member uses the site for their individual projects. Kate's project is that each week she goes and interviews young homeless people. 40% of homeless youths self-identify as gay or lesbian. That is a huge statistic. Kate interviews these kids, and each week a new interview is added. This was last week's episode and I think it is so beautiful and touching.
