The BJ's make me physically sick.

Some of the songs are ok, as long as you don't have to look at them singing them. With the teeth, and all that.

Oh, Le-Mc: Please reconsider. I saw the BeeGees in concert back in '69 and they were absolutely sensational! Robin's voice is angelic! I personally prefer their pre-disco music, but they have made a tremendous contribution to the industry which should be acknowledged.

They're ok, you know. They sound like the chipmunks, which is ok, if you like chipmunks. Or cheap chipmunk imitations.

Le-Mc: Sleepy & I both can't be wrong! Chipmunks? Come on, guy, I give you more credit than that. Try listening to some of their older stuff (from before you were born) and enjoy the harmony. In any case, they did give a marvelous live performance, complete with an 80-piece orchestra, way back when I saw them.

I just don't like looking at them, they basically annoy me!
I feel sorry for them, with their brother dying, and that. And, I do think they can sing well, and at least they write their own stuff. That one song is quite good, I can't spell it - it's a place in America.
Something like Massivetwotits?

OK, Le-Mc, I feel better now. The song to which you refer is "Massachusetts." (I enjoyed your original spelling!)

Back to the original topic I noticed noone mentioned Come Together by Soundgarden, it's PEREFECT! Is that too obscure or maybe not many people like Soundgarden?

Lilica, I've never heard Soundgarden's version, so I can't say one way or the other as to how well it compares to the original.

I have seen visited concerts of the Bee Gees and their show is very good.
All own material and look what has become of the given-away songs.
Re the falcetto voices, well indeed opinions differ, you have to like it. Listen to beep-beep beep-beep yeah!

I've started a little collection of Beatles covers. I've got the All This And WWII album, which looks spectacular even though I have yet to listen to it. I have tape 2 of the 2 tape set of the Sgt. Pepper film. Here are the singles of sovers that I have...

With a Little Help From My Friends - The Young Idea
Yesterday - Matt Monro
I Call Your Name b/w Bad To Me - Billy J Kramer. Both songs written by L&M
Hello Little Girl - The Fourmost
I Should Have Known Better - The Naturals
Yesterday - Cilla Black
And I Love Her - Detroit Emeralds
All You Need Is Love - Echo and the Bunnymen
Help! - Bananarama & Lananeeneenoonoo. In support for Comic relief
Let It Be - Ferry Aid for the Zeebrugee ferry diaster.
Got To Get you Into My Life - Cliff Bennett
Here Comes The Sun - Steve Harley and Cockey rebels

On Rickie Lee Jones' new cd (It's Like This), she does a cover of "For No One" that is simply beautiful with piano and her magical, mystical voice. She was going to do an entire album of Beatle covers but ended up with this one that includes standards like "Smile" (C. Chaplin)and "Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys" (Traffic). If she's ever in your area, don't pass up the opportunity to see her live. The records don't even do her justice.

First off,to Harbridge:
Sorry, but I Call Your Name was WRITTEN FOR BILLY J!
The Billy J. version (w/BTM) was issued in July 1963,the Beatles' not recording it until April 1964 for the Long Tall Sally EP.
The best version of I Call Your Name was by the Mamas and Papas IMO,maybe because I heard the M&P version before the Beatles version.
