There's a picture on a Simpsons calendar from this year with hem imersonating various famous movie clips. One of them has them in full Sergeant Pepper gear floating through the Sea of Holes, with a sub-heading of "Yellow Tambor-ma-rine!"

They were all great episodes! Does anyone remember all the storylines? I only remember the Paul & Linda one about Lisa going "vegie".

The one with George in it was a whole parody of the Beatles story--it was about Homer being in a barber shop quartet, there are tons of Beatles-related jokes in that episode, including Homer's group singing on a rooftop; George drives by, looks up, and says, "It's been done."
The one with Ringo was about Marge taking a painting class, she paints a nude of Homer called "Bald Adonis", but she had earlier painted Ringo, who has finally gotten to her fan letter from the 60s and a painting she made of him, and sends her a thank-you letter.
I am ashamed to know this, but I like the Simpsons.

The Simpsons is another love of mine bar the Beatles. When I was younger I recorded as many episodes as I could and have 20+ 3hr videos of them. :S

Anyone else seen the couch gag where they reproduce the Sgt. Pepper cover? If not, here it is:

That's a cool pic, Harbidge. I love the way that Nelson is holding a Krusty doll like the "Rolling Stones" doll on the right, and how to the Simpsons' left there are older versions of them from the Tracy Ullman Show, like the Beatlemania Beatles on the real cover.

My friend and I have always thought that there must be a huge Beatles fan amoungst the writers of The Simpsons - so often there are jokes that only other fans will get, even on just regular episodes with no guest star Beatles!

Definitely because there have been a few times that I've understood Beatle jokes in the Simpsons that even my brother, who lives for the simpsons, didn't get.

I think I remember seeing the creator of the Simpsons Matt Groening (spelt wrong I know) on a special called The Beatles Revolution where famous people, artists, muscians, politicians, and actors were interviewed about the impact of the Beatles. I seem to recall that he commented on the animation done for Yellow Submarine, and also his enjoyment of the lyrics for I Am The Walrus, "yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dogs eye", when he was younger.

Sorry, I have this show on tape and watched it numerous times, when writing my final history paper during my last year of High School, and I still remember bits and pieces two years on!

I wish I'd seen that one. I've seen the one with Paul and Linda, but the others are too old, and they don't show reruns from that long ago anymore. Not that you're old if you've seen them, just more fortunate than I.

I love the Simpsons. There are so many great Beatles references in that show! There's one episode - I believe it's the one where Homer wants to be a hippy, and George Carlin is a guest voice - where they play a song during the credits that's a parody of "Tomorrow Never Knows." And at the very end, Homer says "I buried Flanders."

Of course, nothing beats the barbershop quartet episode (the one George appears in). A must-see for any Beatles fan.

I actually remember them; my husband is a huge Simpsons fan, and it's on Fox twice every evening, so I've seen them all dozens of times. Sometimes I see stuff I never noticed the first ten times I saw a particular episode--the Simpsons can be subtle sometimes. If you haven't seen that barbershop quartet episode (the group was called The B Sharps), you MUST! Filled with Beatles insider jokes, nobody who wasn't a Beatles fan would get half of them.

Yes, the B Sharps episode is my fave! Too bad George didn't have a bigger role in that. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the one with Ringo. Ringo LOVES the Simpsons.
And he says "gear" when he appears. How cool is that?
Marge is in love with Ringo.

Not exactly, my brother likes the Beatles enough to get that joke.

Whoever is responsible for Paul's appearances on The Simpsons feels very positive about him - I remember the Go Veggie thing and there's one Halloween episode (I think it's one) where it's doomsday and Paul gets on the rocket reserved for the "good people".

You haven't mentioned the episode with Milhouse, Bart and the others becoming teen stars. They're unvoluntarily promoting the navy (YVAN ETH NIOJ) and their producer tells him that Sgt. Pepper was part of the same ruse and shows them a picture of the Beatles in the Sgt. Pepper uniforms.

Rocky didn't like that!

The beatles and the simpsons are my two fav things, it was so cool to see them both together.

------------------
" I'm really glad that most of the songs dealt with peace and understanding. There's hardly any one of them that says: 'Go on kids, tell them to sod off, leave your parents.' It's all very 'All you need is love'. There was a good spirit behind it all, which I'm very proud of. Anyway it were a grand thing, The Beatles"

I just saw the B-Sharps episode last night with George Harrison in it--could they parody the Beatles any more? It's been a while since I've seen that episode, and God, it's a riot! I just had to change my signature line, because that's my favorite line from any television show...period! (see below)

------------------
... she will cry when she learns we are two...if I fell in love with you ...

"Hello, Homer, I'm George Harrison."
"Oh my God! Where'd you get that brownie?" -- The Simpsons
