i'd have to say hard day's night is the best, it is cuter; the story that goes along with help is kinda weird, but they are both good movies.
mmt is my second favorite, it is so weird! i love te 'i am the walrus' part.

I think that the best movie of the beatles is REAL LOVE. The music is OK. It's in colors and it has very good special effects. I've got seeing it by using scour exchange www.scour.com

But I also think that Help and others songs are ok.

I too would say that A Hard Days Night is the best one. I love Help! because I think that it is really funny and I actually have a lot of time for MMT. Let It Be depresses me quite a bit and Yellow Submarine frightened me as a child for some strange reason so I haven't seen it for years. I really should give it another chance though, shouldn't I!!
Anyway, AHDN all the way!

Lucy, you should see Yellow Submarine again. Either the original version or the newer one, with the added segment for "Hey Bulldog".

Jami, Let It Be is suppose to be re-released soon, if not already. It is a bit of a downer, considering it shows the Beatles as regular people. It's the demise of a group under a microscope. The one highlight to the whole movie is the rooftop gig.

I never looked at Let It Be as a downer. I found it interesting real life to the max in the Beatle world. It shows them as regular people creating the songs, showing each other demos, rehearsing, chatting, and yes my friends, even bickering. I can't wait to see it again. It's been a long, long, long time.

OK if it isn't a total downer you have to admit that it is a little depressing.
It doesn't bother me that you see them as regular people - I love that. It's just that you know the end is near and that at that stage they were all unhappy. Something about it just upsets me a little.

I'm all set to give Yellow Submarine another try. I was a strange child. Easily frightened I guess. But still, those yucky monsters and Blue Meanies are a little creepy don't you think? My warped fear of the movie hasn't stopped me from wearing the T-shirt or listening to the album or playing with my Paul doll & glove that I got for my birthday - I'm not totally crazy!

That's a given, Lucy. You love the Beatles and that's the main subject at hand.

Now that you mention it, I can see how it might be somewhat depressing for you knowing that it was the end in progress. The only time I saw it was in the theater when it was released and we didn't look at it that way at the time (back in the day). We saw it as letting us in on a glimpse of the magical mystery Beatle world of music. It's all in the mind you know. Perception is everything.

Hard Day's Night is a masterpiece.

jtal, just got around to reading your Nov. 17 post re: "Let it Be" and you're absolutely right about how we felt when it was released. It's a point-of-view thing. Also, seeing it on the big screen was fabulous!

Anyone else agree that George should've gotten WAY more lines in AHDN and Help!? I mean, I guess he was the worst actor out of the four, but still. He's marvelously funny! "marvelously" funny! LOL!
