I have read several times that United Artist destroyed the scenes cut from AHDN, there are just photos left of the scenes cut from what I have read...

Every second of film not used in A Hard Day's Night WAS destroyed- that is, burned, by United Artists in early 1969. Richard Lester discovered this in mid 1969 and went public about it in 1974.

(To date, nothing except a 3 minute clip of them performing 'You Can't Do that' which was never included in the movie, has been recovered, and that was thanks to it being given to CBS tv in 1964 before the movie was edited together).

The DVD does not include any previously unused footage. It's safe to assume there is no further missing material and the bus sequence is lost forever. I've never seen a still of it, the scene is not in the published book of the script (which included several deleted scenes). It could be it was rehearsed but never filmed, or it could be you're thinking of another movie, 'Summer Holiday'.

According to an interview with Richard Lester in that AHDN script book, the scene with Paul and the actress was cut because "He didn't do it very well." And he mentions several times that the unused footage was destroyed because of space considerations.

Another scene that was unfortunately cut was when a gust of air blew a man's hair into an adorable Beatle mop.

Paul has a plethora of talents, but I don't think acting is one of them. In the Beatle movies, he was more or less himself, so that was one thing. The scene with the busty dancer offering fudge was not as effective a scene from what I read. (I have the original "AHDN" with all the uncensored script and photos).
