Fred Seaman\'s Lennon Pics, Anyone?
Hi, gang. It's great to be back 'round these parts.
I admit it. I like Fred Seaman's "Last Days of John Lennon" book. For the unitiated, Seaman was Lennon's last really close personal assistant. True, Seaman in the end ripped the Lennon's off. But his accounts of Life with the Lennons are not only downright interesting; they also ring as very, very true.
Anyways, this is what brings me here. I know that Seaman published a book full of his Lennon pics. I haven't seen those, only the ones he include3s in "Last Days of Lennon". I tried a Google search, but I can't find any Fred Seaman photographs. Does any kind soul out there care to contribute to this thread with ANY pics that Seaman took of Lennon?
Thanks in advance,
JJ

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">You can't find any of Seaman's pics because he is not allowed to post them or publish them anywhere. In that lawsuit last year, those pics were judged to be the property of Yoko and not Fred Seaman.
His book was also found to be slanderous and is no longer allowed to be reprinted. I think it is unfortunate that there are still copies out there, and frankly, I think he had an axe to grind because he got fired and I wonder how much of those accounts are true. Not because I don't believe that life with John and Yoko couldn't be a little weird, but because some of the stuff is just so out there ya gotta wonder.

I was going to say the same thing, Susan. You took the words right out of my mouth; I guess great minds DO think alike.
There will soon be some new pics of John in print, though.
May Pang is currently working on a book containing formerly unseen pics of John taken during his "Lost Weekend" period in L.A., so we'll be seeing some new shots soon.

I agree that the author may have had an axe to grind, however, it makes for fascinating reading. He does present rather detailed notes of the Lennon's activities, and some of the "shopping lists" John gave him, as described in the book, compare 100% with similar documents currently auctioned on Ebay.
Hey, who knows? John *was* a fan of the tabloids. ;-)
Now, as to my inquiry. I can't vouch for the existence of the book, because I never got my hands onit, but I did a search on Amazon.
Here's what came up:
The Private Life of John Lennon: A Photographic Journal
by Fred Seaman, Frederic Seaman
Product Details
Hardcover
Publisher: Pub Group West; (August 1997)
ASIN: 1560251069
Anyways, thanks and Merry Chrimble to all.

It seems to me that "Yoko bashing" is one of the common denominators of most Lennon biographers. The cheap shots--perhaps encouraged by the late Dr. Goldman--come with appalling frequency. But if you subtract all of that from Fred Seaman's book, what else is slanderous? I thought it was accurate and sincere enough to be believed. There's undeniable realism in Fred's accounts of sitting around with John, getting high, going on errands to buy property, etc., and I think he made it clear when he was offering his opinions. I know there's a lot more to the story that just that, but anyway, as a Lennon book, it's hard to match.

I just read this book for the second time and I believe it to be a true account of Frederic Seamans time with him. I think most people would agree, if they read the book. I think Yoko just didnt want any thing at all published about their private lives.
