Anything BUT "Speed of Sound"....I don't think I've played that in 20 years and it's the only Paul album I never bothered to get on CD!

Cant do it, its like asking me to pick between children! But I couldnt live without BOTR, Flaming Pie, Ram, London Town, Wings Over America, oh whats the use, cant do it!

OK, 'Wildlife' & 'Speed of sound' we can well do without [img]graemlins/barf5.gif[/img] and I wouldn't mourn if I never heard 'em again but I would like to put the case forward for 'Venus & Mars' & 'London town' - 2 LP's that have received more slagging and more bad press [img]graemlins/talking.gif[/img] than they deserve. I actually quite like these 2 LP's, far from 'excruciating', it's about time these 2 were given their due.
Even though it's not a Wings album as such, I do NOT join the popular argument that 'McCartney II' is the "absolute nadir" of the man's career. Codswallop. I can't wait to get me hands on the original intended full-length 2cd version - for me, 'Wildlife' is easily his worst mistake.
I haven't played in full since 1996 when I first got it. [img]graemlins/barf3.gif[/img] Now, THAT album is the nadir of Macca's recorded output.
And, if 'Back seat of my car' counts as a Wings track...which I guess it does stemming from it's inclusion on 'Wingspan'....I can't believe it wasn't a hit....superb. But then again I can't believe 'A love for you' was left off 'Ram'.

Well I finally have an answer for this question. I have spent the last few weeks 'researching' it and I have to say Wingspan because most of the other albums I really only like one or two songs on. So the compilation is great because there they are. And the ones I like I REALLY like.

My favorites would be Wildlife & Venus and Mars...but Band on the Run is a very close third. Every time I hear the Band on the Run song I think of Paul's story about lifting a line from something George said..."If I ever get out of here..." SO, that alone makes it one of Paul's finest, George inspired. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
