Default Do You Know The Location of This Video Clip?

In this particular video of George's acoustic version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", in two places, 18 second mark and 2:54 until end, it shows George walking in what looks like a city square or something similar. Does anyone know where this is and what these video clips are from? The last part of the video is always sad for me because it shows George looking at the camera then turning around and walking away until you can barely see him. I always pair it with his death and his leaving us.

Looking at the buildings and the people walking around, I'd guess that's London. I'm sure one of our UK peeps will recognize it. Lucy, are you out there...

I believe George is in Dam Square, in Amsterdam. Photos are likely from his visit to the square on February 3, 1977. George was in Europe in February of 1977 to promote 33 1/3 on radio and tv.

That is so strange. For a second, my first thought was Amsterdam. Maybe it was the style of the buildings. And then I said, why would he be there, it's gotta be England.

Thanks so much. Now looking at it, it does look like Amsterdam. After reading your answers, I've now contacted the person who made the video asking where he/she got the clip so maybe I/we can see it in it's entirety. Yeah, I'm on a mission.

It has it's own style, doesn't it? I'd love to visit one day.

I remember a few pics like that. If you are in a scanning mood, it would be great if you'd like to post from your scrapbook!

Yeah, it definatley wasn't London - you don't get open squares like that in London. ;-)

Actually I was trying to work out when George was last in Scotland (John had a house in Scotland and came here in around 1969, and both Ringo and Paul have both played Glasgow in recent years) and I don't think George ever came back up here after the last UK Beatles tour.

George was in Scotland with Pattie in '71, Isle of Skye... looking chilly.

Here is some more info on where George and Pattie stayed when they were there. You can vacation at the same house now. There are really nice pics in the gallery.

The pic of George is on page 11. Actually, the webpage says it is from 1972, but Pattie said 1971.

Thanks for that - could be worth a trip up to Skye in the summer.
