<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I agree with you, except for the part about being upset with Paul. I am so biased, I scarcely am upset with him, because I love him too much! But I think you're right. I wasn't around in the sixties, but I've learned enough to see that Paul was really the driving force in continuing the Beatles. can you imagine the Beatles breaking up before The White Album and Abbey Road and Let it Be? That would've been horrible. For all the Beatles' arguments towards the end, I have to agree with you and give Paul huge credit for managing to keep the Beatles together to produce tons of amazing songs that people still listen to today.

Rock on, Paul!

Wow Myth, you've got it down pat (though I don't know if you even come here any more).

I once had my late 1970/early '71 Beatles album made up. I stuck with solo songs not written before '72.

1. Child of Nature/Jealous Guy
2. Gimme Some Truth
3. Teddy Boy
4. Junk
5. All Things Must Pass
6. Maybe I'm Amazed
7. Instant Karma
8. Window Window
9. Photograph
10. Every Night
11. Backseat of My Car
12. Madman
13. Another Day
14. Let it Down

That's just off the top of my head. I can't recall how it really went, and it's in no order whatsoever.

Yeah I'm still checking back!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I actually just completed the full althistory (up until 1979) and am currently burning the cds (I burnt the 1974 and 1975 albums!)!

I changed some of the albums (the ones I posted from 1971 and 1972 are a tad different from what I now have), but I'm happy with what I came up with here.

Here's my revised althistory, sans stories (maybe I'll write up a little something when I have more time), but starting with 1970...

July, 1970
Apple/Captiol Single 2889
Instant Karma! (Lennon) b/w Oo You (McCartney)

October, 1970
Apple/Capitol Single 2985
Maybe I'm Amazed (McCartney) b/w Well, Well, Well (Lennon)

December, 1970
Beatles Christmas EP 1970
Side One
1. Happy X-Mas [War Is Over] (Lennon)
2. Early 1970 (Starkey)
Side Two
3. Momma Miss America (McCartney)
4. Run Of The Mill (Harrison)

February, 1971
Apple/Capitol Single 2990
My Sweet Lord (Harrison) b/w Man We Was Lonely (McCartney)

March, 1971
The Cavern
Side One
1. What Is Life (Harrison)
2. The Lovely Linda/Every Night (McCartney)
3. Teddy Boy (McCartney)
4. Isolation (Lennon)
5. Power To The People (Lennon)
6. Isn't It A Pity (Harrison)
Side Two
7. My Mummy's Dead/Mother (Lennon)
8. Let It Down (Harrison)
9. Junk (McCartney)
10. Remember (Lennon)
11. It Don't Come Easy (Harrison)
12. Love (Lennon)
13. That Would Be Something (McCartney)

December, 1971
Beatles Ram and Pig Christmas EP 1971
Side One
1. Ram On 1&2 (McCartney)
2. Crippled Inside (Lennon)
Side Two
3. The Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Harrison)
4. Heart Of The Country (McCartney)

I'll continue with 1972 soon!

See, I firmly believe that the Beatles as a whole would never do songs like My Sweet Lord and Power to the People. John was already doing some solo stuff when they broke up and I think that would have continued. George had even mentioend during the LIB sessions that he might make a solo album, and John/Yoko thought that was a great idea.

Other than that, I can dig your tracklistings. I wish I had Paul's albums on CD instead of vinyl so I could make these comps myself .

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yeah there would be no "My Sweet Lord" and "God" if the Beatles had stayed together. But why omit a song like "My Sweet Lord" when it's sitting there oh so lonely? I did, however, omit "God" because of the notorious line.

But yeah I know John already had a solo career running by 1970, and Paul was composing his stuff before the Beatles "officialy" broke up, and George had a bunch of material ready for his solo, and Ringo had already released his solo debut; but just to take all the songs that are there, and to arrange them in albums is a neat idea. Then to listen to them when you're finished...

Here's my 2 cents:
I think NONE of the songs mentioned would have been in another Beatles album, with the exception of the ones that (for example) Paul used in his "McCartney" album, basically because a lot of these were written when he was still a Beatle and were rejected by the other three. (Shame, too, because Ringo's "Photograph" is just an INCREDIBLE song). But I think that whatever material they could have made would have been simply AMAZING. If their solo material (i.e., the songs chosen for examples as mentioned above) was so amazing, well... we all know that thogether they were even better, so one can only begin to imagine... i go by George's words: "The best songs are the ones I've not written yet"... (Get the picture?? )

Photograph is a brilliant song though!

Myth, how could the Beatles release Too Many People when it's a stab at John&Yoko!?

Well John constantly poked on himself in songs, so I wouldn't see why Paul couldn't do it here. And it's subtle, unlike "How Do You Sleep."

I should continue my althistory too...

funny...that this topic 'miraculously' appeared in space today (thanks Legs :)
I was thinking of starting a similar topic today.
I didn't even realize I had responded to this one. I think I may change my mind on my picks now...let me fester a bit. But while I do.....does anyone else have anything to add?
