Very news; I wonder what Paul will sing at the ceremony. Thanks for sharing that with us, Amalthea!

As a norwegian, and living in Oslo where this concert is to be held, I am very happy about it. However, the show is a sellout and I haven't got a ticket, so the next weeks are going to be focused on "how to get in there without paying quadruple price". I'm hoping he will do "I'm Down" again and I KNOW he'll be playing "Freedom". Weeks, roll by!

This is what I found from Billboard:

McCartney, Wyclef To Play For Peace

Paul McCartney and Wyclef Jean are among the artists confirmed to perform at the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert Dec. 11 in Oslo. Other musical guests set to honor this year's laureate, United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan, are Natalie Imbruglia, Youssou N'Dour, a-ha, Russell Watson, and Kodo.

The concert, to be hosted by Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson, will be held in the 8,000-capacity Oslo Spektrum and is expected to be recorded for broadcast on Norwegian and international TV stations in the following weeks.

The Nobel Peace Prize is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. At last year's event, also hosted by Streep, Bryan Adams, Westlife, Sissel, Bryn Terfel, and Femi Kuti paid homage to South Korean president Kim Dae-Jung's contributions to peacemaking efforts in Korea, East Timor, and Myanmar.
