Beatles Day: Pick a date for it! Too many, already!
Beatles Day: Pick a date for it! Too many, already
I thought July 10 was Beatles Day?! Septermber 9 was declared National Beatles Day in 2009. Why do we have so many? Why is there another one? It's getting confusing and crowded with all these Beatles Days. We need to have just one Beatles Day. What's the purpose of this one? I see it's the anniversary of the "All You Need Is Love" broadcast.

I saw that article and thought 'huh???"
Maybe we can have a Beatles day on the day Yesterday was released as a single.

Really, why? (I mean I understand the earth-shaking significance, but it isn't the Beatles without George and Ringo.)
This should be a poll if it isn't already ...

Damn you, AC! You always bring up such good points!!!
I still think July 6th should be Beatles Day because that was the spark... and Ringo wouldn't mind because it's so close to his birthday!

Some folks tell me, "Everyday is Beatles Day." Yea, I get that if that is what you subscribe to. For me, that mentality is like that for me on Beatlefest weekend, going to a Paul or Ringo concert, and on Sunday mornings when I listen to Breakfast With The Beatles. If there is to be one official universal Beatles Day, it either should be established by the survivng Beatles, their widows, and the fans. Not a handful of rogue Beatles days set up by individual fans, themselves.
Also, why not have an internet vote with a multiple choice of dates on all the Beatles forums, the Beatles official website, the Beatles and solo-Beatles' Facebook and Twitter pages, at the Beatlefests in Chicago and New Jersey, in Liverpool at The International Beatles Week, and at Abbey Road On The River in Louisville, KY. and in Washington D.C.. I'm not sure how long the voting period would last, but after it ends, they would be counted. The date with the most votes and is agreed and decided by Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia and the fans, that that day would be deemed as International/Universal Beatles Day! Though I do like the dates of July 10 and September 9.
What do you think of the concept of having one International Beatles Day? What date or dates would you throw in for it if there were ever to be an official vote for one? Should the fans decide it, the surviving Beatles and their widows, or both?

Feb.9
Most of us U.S. kids didn't see or hear much of and or about them on Feb.7&8--it was all East Coast fanfare and little news coverage.
But, we got to see and hear them on Feb.9, when Ed Sullivan said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, The...!"

I'd like to see December 26 as Beatles Day.
That was the day in 1963 that I Want To Hold Your Hand was released in the USA.

...and the day Magical Mystery Tour (the film) made its inauspicious debut on the telly.
A year later and I still stand behind July 6th.

I think when you're celebrating a DAY of anything of significance, you tend to commemorate that DAY from its early beginnings. To me, mid-August has a special significance for a couple of reasons. In 1960 the band dropped the "Silver" from its name and became purely the Beatles. And in 1962 Ringo joined the band, albeit in controversial circumstances, thereby forming its popular foursome as we know them.
So I'll say August 15th.

June 6 is considered International Beatles Fan Day because June 6, 1962 is considered by many as the greatest day in Beatles history. On that day, the Beatles auditioned for George Martin.

But that was John Paul George and Pete so June 6th is out. It's always been July 10th why change it?

So we're no closer really to finding THE day.
