I'm not into philosophy, but in high school I did a report on Pascal for my Statistics class and enjoyed his writings, especially the humorous ones, so I voted for him.

I picked Kant because I've gotten him as a result in few quizzes, but I also picked Aristotle because he's my favourite Greek thinker.

I count 4, not including Bruce Lee.
From the four I go with Nietzsche for no good reason really.

I dont want to encourage these polls as they seem kinda spammy but I will suggest people read Theodor S. Geisel

To hell with circumstances, i create opportunities.

bruce lee

what did he mean by this? while he was creating his jeet kune do, around '65, the philososhy behind it was-theres no limitation as a limitation. there's no way as a way. YOU are the way. for me this words of his have no meaning, its something i FEEL.

A rather important historical mind seems to be missing from your list, so I picked Nietzsche...

I was going to vote for Hobbs, but you didn't have him listed; so I went with Rene Descartes. :)

Did you know that Kant was reported to have autism?

hooray for autism, its the best thing in the world
kant was so punctual, that he each and everx day walked exactly the same path from home to university, where he was ordinary professor, and back. People inhabiting the houses along which he walked were tuning their clocks according to the moment when he'll pass someones house. He never left his home town.

nietzsche is another story altogether- a nut. "god is dead" and all that...thats way he's my fav, also "ubermensch", disgustingly abused by hitler. nietzsce thought people arent good enough, and they need to evolve psychologically into another species. he ended up in a nut house. so, yeah, thats why he's my fav.

It's great to see autism supporters. If I had my way, that damn R*** M** would be put to rest forever because most people with autism are NOT prodigious savants. I hate that movie for perpetuating a stereotype and it upsets me that to this day people with autism are mocked in satires every bit as insulting as minstrel shows. In fact, R*** M** is a slur in the autism world and it is every bit as harmful and unwelcome as racial and ethnic and religious slurs. I hate that damn movie and I am not playing!

As for Herr Nietzche, I was no fan of his. I enjoyed the ancient Greek philosophers as well as Descartes. ("I think, therefore I am" or "Cogito Ergo Sum.")
