Default There Are Places I Remember...

During the latter part of "Beatlemania", Paul once mentioned how he and the others desired to write about places from their childhood....

Of course, he eventually wrote "Penny Lane", and John wrote "Strawberry Fields Forever". But one location Paul mentioned, at the above-mentioned time, was never immortalized in song.

For three points...

Who was Paul talking to at the time he mentioned the "childhood" songs idea, and which place was it that did not get written about?

Hints:

The person I am looking for had a big hand in the band's first two films.

The location I am looking for can be answered if you put two words together:

1.) A famous pants maker, known for its khakis/casual dress pants particularly.

and...

2.) Something you'd take with you when you go out on a rainy day.

Three points! Go for it!

Whoops! I almost forgot about this one...

On December 7, 1965, Walter Shenson visited the band backstage at the ABC Cinema, Ardwick, in Manchester. Paul spoke to Shenson about their film-making future, among other things. During the conversation, he said.....

"We have always wanted to write a number about the places in Liverpool where we were born. Places like Penny Lane and The Docker's Umbrella have a nice musical sound, but when we strung them all together in a composition, they sounded so contrived, we gave up."

Since this will be my final post for December, I feel I should leave-off with the final score once again:
