Poord Sadie. My neglected garden is flowering like mad. The roses are absolutely fantastic!!! There's absolutely no justice in this world!

Actually funnily enough the only things that are ok are the roses LOL We were away from home for a while and while my friends fed and watered my cats they didn't feed and water and my plants, one of them is a professional gardener I ask you!! LOLOLOLOL My tomatos plants are dead, my lobelia in the window boxes are dead, my geraniums in pots by the front door are dead, my coriander is dead, just tons of things are dead, all the stuff in pots anyway.

Everything's coming up roses, eh? Ow, ow! Bad pun, bad pun!

Yeah, sometimes you're MORE than surprised over what your pet and plant caregivers do while you're gone! One of mine watered everything indoors with the small watering can provided just fine. She then complained how difficult it was to water the garden with the small can.

- "Water the garden with the CAN??? Didn't you read the instructions? We've hooked up the sprinklers so all you needed to do was turning on the faucet in the basement!"

- "Oh, really? Well, I never read instructions! And the cat is harder to keep tabs on than a baby. Every times I took her out she tried to climb the fence."

- "You took the cat out in the yard?" (hushed voice)

- "Every day I came here but I had to watch her like mad."

- "My cat is an INDOOR cat. She NEVER goes out!"

I'l bet your yard looks better than mine. The only thing that grows are weeds. I call it my yard of shame.

Thanks so much everyone for the sweet thoughts, prayers, cards, notes, etc. - I appreciate it so much. Things were much different three weeks ago! I am trying to keep Paul-ish about it right now and think of the good things and happy times. Thanks again

I have a FEW irritants!

I am without a computer again. My hard drive finally bit the dust, so I've ordered another one from Dell, who will talk me through the installation of said drive over the phone. (This reminds me of the airplane disaster movies where the people in the tower instruct the stewardess how to land the plane. "Can you fly this plane and land it?" "Surely you can't be serious!" I AM serious! And don't call me Shirley!") The hard drive will not arrive til the 15th, tho, so I won't get to chat with you lot much til then. On the upside, I will have twice as many GB's as before, and you know what that means! Twice as many Jim pics!

I took the folks to the doctor yesterday for checkups, and I go out to the truck to get my dad's pillow and what do I find? The passenger side door bashed in! Seems the elderly gentleman in the gray Sable next to me had a bit of trouble parking. I saw him in the waiting room and he was quite elderly and frail and alone, so I did not confront him. I'll just file a claim as a hit-and-run collision thingy.

I missed Sadie!

I have one suspect, but no way to find out.

I'm very bitter right now, so don't mess with me.

If you get something called a hard drive wire, I think, and you know a geek, sometimes you can recover files from damaged hard drives. I haven't done it before, but I could figure it out probably.

What you do, connect the damaged drive as a "slave" to the new HD, and then you use a program to copy the files over -- some may end up corrupted.

Also, DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE DAMAGED DISC, or you might overwrite.

Here's a program that I heard had good results:
http://www.roadkil.net/program.php?ProgramID=29

Install on the new HD. And then find a geek or just get me a passport and plane ticket

It's no wonder I waited 'til I was 23 to learn to drive. It's not the money or the learning to drive that's the hassle. It's the DMV!
