And with all due respect to Linda, if Wide Prairie is up next, then they're not thinking. Besides, there's a New reissue coming out this year.

First off, if you look at the post, it does say the list is "unofficial" but it's not too wide of the mark with what has been released so far.

Secondly, again it's noted in the original post that the list was first published online in June 2011 - over four years ago.

Thirdly, it's not my list and I didn't say it was. I only happened upon it (from a link posted on the official PM Message Board) and thought to share it here as it was an interesting read. See point one above.

I didn't mean to imply that it was your list, so I apologize if it came off that way. I remember drooling over that back when it first came out, and obviously even if the source was a knowledgeable one, delays come up and plans change so I wouldn't write it off for a mistake or two.

However, I do find it more-than-slightly baffling at how an original plan of an average of 7 releases per year (not even accounting for new albums in 2012 and 2013, and perhaps another in the next two years, that would compete with the reissues) has led to one or two each year. Considering it took seven months for the second and third sets to be released, that seems like a very lofty prediction.

"Magneto and Titanium Man" aside, Paul is not Marvel Comics; there is no reason to plan a full slate of 42 box sets years in advance. That alone should highlight the ridiculousness of the list, especially in light of Concord spokespeople being consistently unsure of what release is next in the pipeline. The people involved in these releases may have ideas in mind for the future of the series, but there's no master list of what is coming out and when, how many DVDs it will include, etc.

As to its accuracy so far, anyone could have predicted the next six after BOTR because they were all included on the "Coming soon" card. The entire list was constructed under the premise that the guy could defend any inaccuracies with the "Plans change" mantra. Again, if there were one or two slips, that's fine. If Concord decides to drop 35 deluxe sets in the next two years, I'll take it all back. If there's even a deluxe book version of Wide Prairie, the supposed next release, in 2015 or 2016, I'll convert to Scientology.

By the way, we'll note that some of the previously released bonus tracks that were on "Wings at the speed of sound" are now instead on (the new edition of) "Venus and Mars", which is more chronologically-fitting (though a bit confusing when, by now, well used to certain tracks being on certain CD's)

... but... where has "Zoo gang" gone to ?

Used to be on "V&M", but it's not on this new edition...

"Zoo Gang" is on the BOTR reissue. What I'm wondering is why "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae" isn't on V&M, unless they want to shoehorn it on Back to the Egg again.

... ah... oh... o.k., didn't get the latest "Band on the run" release, as I didn't "need" any of the new material on it.

"Rudolf", chronogically (if going by recording dates, as they seem to mean to do on these, as opposed to release dates), yes, it should be on "V&M"... but, as you said, maybe they plan to have it on "Egg", where it already was upon the last edition of that album.

P.S.: Speaking of recording dates, any idea where one can find out when the previously unreleased tracks on "V&M" and "Speed/Sound" were recorded ?

I'm disappointed that Back to the Egg is being ignored for a reissue. I love that album. Maybe Paul's last great rock album. I mean Rockestra alone merits the album being remastered.

The "non deluxe" edition doesn't list them...
Going to New Orleans: January 1975
Hey Diddle 23rd October 1970 with overdubs in January 1975
Let's Love: 28th August 1974
Soliy: 9th October 1974
Baby Face: November 1974
4th of July: not listed (I guess 1970, anyway)
Rock Show (early take): 1st November 1974

Speed of Sound demos: not listed
Beware My Love: 28th August 1975

The majority of these dates are in my book PAUL McCARTNEY RECORDING SESIONS by the way.
