They said it wouldn't be ready until the morning. I mean...dry cleaning? What dry cleaning?

Somehow Billy Joel topped my charts last week, must have been the one day Billy Joelathon I did last week with someone. Nine of his albums in one day:

Cold Spring Harbor, Piano Man, Streetlife Serenade (For the first time), Turnstiles, The Stranger, 52nd Street, Glass Houses, The Nylon Curtain, An Innocent Man

Anyone notice that last week they added full on-demand tracks on Last.fm? Before you could only select 30-second samples of particular tracks to listen to, or you could listen to full tracks in radio mode but you never knew what would play. Now, many artists have complete songs that can be selected and listened to in entirety. Some artists even have complete albums you can listen to. Of the Beatley variety, I've noticed Ringo has a few complete tracks and John and Paul each have one right now. Of the bands I listen to a lot, it seems like it's the Latin rock bands who have the most songs available currently.

Also, here's my top artists for last week. It's the first time I've had all four solo-Beatles and the Beatles in the top 15 together.

1 - The Beatles - (81)
2 - Ringo Starr - (49)
3 - Feist - (35)
4 - John Lennon - (32)
4 - the brilliant green - (32)
6 - 椎名林檎 (Shiina Ringo) - (28)
7 - Lily Allen - (25)
7 - The Pillows - (25)
9 - Paul McCartney - (23)
10 - 矢井田瞳 (Yaida Hitomi) - (19)
11 - 東京事変 (Tokyo Jihen) - (16)
12 - Zero 7 - (14)
12 - Juanes - (14)
12 - 東京スカパラダイスオーケストラ (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra) - (14)
15 - George Harrison - (12)
15 - Noodles - (12)

That Full Tracks feature is pretty cool. I wasted a lot of time there today.

From the Last.fm FAQ:

Last.fm is a service that keeps track of what music you listen to, and then produces a large number of features personalised to you.

You can use Last.fm to listen to music, find out about artists you may like, other people with similar music taste, gigs in your local area, charts and quilts for your personal site, as well as much more.

Scrobbling a song means that when you listen to it, the name of the song is sent to Last.fm and added to your music profile.

Once you've signed up and downloaded Last.fm, you can scrobble songs you listen to on your computer or iPod automatically. Start scrobbling yourself, and see what artists you really listen to the most. Songs you listen to will also appear on your Last.fm profile page for others to see.

Millions of songs are scrobbled every day. This data helps Last.fm to organise and recommend music to people; we use it to create personalised radio stations, and a lot more besides.

Also, to let you know, you can set it up so that it scrobbles songs from your iPod, which is what I do. This uses different software than the typical Last.fm software and scrobbling is slightly different. If you're interested in that, I can let you know how to get that set up (it's simple, but you have to know where to look for it and how it works).
