Default The last bit of Helter Skelter

I have been close attention recently to the last part of Helter Skelter that begins where the vocals end.

You know the part after Paul whispers 'whoooooo' *very creepy by the way*

Anyways, the Beatles create some demented sounds here. I have no idea what instruments or techniques are used but the result is stunning. It has the effect of being like a sonic version of an exestintial modernist painiting. The sounds are filled with metallic and dark tones. Swirling round and around in a jarring way. It definately creates a tangible atmosphere and mood. A journey to the darkside or to the darker side of art.....

um.... anyways it still sounds great. It still sounds unique. I just wanted to point out this particular aspect of Helter.

I know the bit, and you're right. It's just a straight up, old-fashioned jam session. That's when the best stuff's created. They knew this and took full advantage. Look at the product. Great song. As for the song being compared to a modernist painting: You're very good at that (possibly the best), thinking up the best ways to describe everything. Wish I'd thought of it. You read my mind before I do.

Ringo's "I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS" is easily the best part :)

According to Lewisohn's book, John and Mal Evans played trumpet and saxophone (without actually knowing how to...) on the tune. So that accounts for some of the crazy sounds at the end. The rest would be guitar feedback.
