In short.
The good news,
The One Hand Clapping T.V. special will finally be availabe on dvd officially.

The bad news,
The third cd from the deluxe edition is nothing more then a remastered version of the bonus disc of the 25th anniversary edition.
And there are no new interesting outtakes from the "Band on the run" sessions.

The unknown:
The sound quality, could be better could be worse then the previous editions.

My conclusion.

I'll wait and see, I'll probably go for the 2CD+1DVD digipack – Special Edition, because of the official "One hand clapping" release, and not because I need another version of "Band On The Run". In anycase I have no need for an remastered version of the 25th anniversary editon bonus disc, so I'll skip the 3CD+1DVD case – Deluxe Edition.

More info from someone who went at Chicago's Fest, that got shared on Amazon. Now why didn't someone shared that info here?

- At Chicago's Fest For Beatles Fans there was an ad for this release on the back of the program. The text reads as follows:
The first release in the PAUL McCARTNEY ARCHIVE COLLECTION. [Available in] Standard CD - Special 2 CD + DVD Edition - 180 Gram Vinyl - Digital Download. Deluxe 3 CD + DVD Collector's Edition featuring a 120-page book containing many previously unpublished images by Linda McCartney and Clive Arrowsmith, album and single artwork and a full history of the album, complete with a new interview with Paul and expanded track by track information.

But if so I will sell my 25th anniversary edition.
Got to know the different prices first as well.

What is this about the One Hand Clapping?
I know...I haven't been out of my house since 1972....
"RAM" and "Band on the run" have always been my 2 favorite Paul albums.
I don't have the 25th anniversary edition.

So.... 3 cd + DVD deluxe edition for me?????

Here is a blog about it

Wings scored their best selling LP with Band On The Run in 1973 and afterwards took a seven week long working vacation in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to writing new material, Wings were rehearsing with two new members, guitarist Jimmy McCullouch and drummer Geoff Britton.
The British press was running many stories about the clashes and imminent breakup of Wings along with the usual rumors about the reunion of The Beatles. To counter this McCartney produced this television documentary showing them rehearsing in Abbey Road Studio. These rehearsals were for their first true world tour and showing Paul in a generally positive light. It was filmed and recorded at Abbey Road Studios on August 15th, 1974.
However drummer Britton was dumped by the band, the proposed world tour didn’t happen and “One Hand Clapping” never aired on television. There have been many releases of this over the years of both the audio and video.
“One Hand Clapping” is a strange document. Band On The Run became Wings’ biggest selling LP and in early 1974 the band and families took a seven week long working vacation to Nashville Tennessee. Staying on the farm owned by songwriter Curly Putman Jr., they rehearsed with new members, guitarist Jimmy McCullouch and drummer Geoffrey Britton and worked on new songs like “Junior’s Farm.”
Two of the earliest releases are One Hand Clapping (Chapter One CO 25109) issued in 1990 and One Hand Clapping (Yellow Cat Records YC 028). A good pressed DVD of the show can be found onOne Hand Clapping (Misterclaudel). Watchtower released their version in 2001 with both a VHS of the program and the soundtrack in excellent mono on this release. This is an excellent way to obtain the audio soundtrack for the video.
The performances are good for a rehearsal and is interesting for being the only proof that Britton was ever in the band. He wears his karate uniform throughout and even shows his moves during the drum improv.
Described by Paul as a “cabaret song”, written when he was around 14 years old, around the age he wrote “When I’m Sixty-Four”. He explains that he wrote these sorts of songs before he knew Rock n Roll. It’s great to have another studio version of “Soily” and the very rare song “Suicide”, one of McCartney’s first songs, and a rare version of “1985″. The interviews are also cool to listen to, hearing Paul speaking about aging and other topics. Overall, this is a good way to obtain the audio for the documentary.

If it's got One Hand Clapping, I'll probably shell out for it because I don't have that in any decent quality and I love it. "BOTR" is the first Beatles-related thing I bought, back when it was new, so I have an emotional connection to it...I will have to read up on this, but I bet it'll become part of my collection.

To be honest, I didn't even notice that until now when you mentioned it. Most of the ads are for fan-fic books or radio shows or other stuff I'm not all that interested in, so I don't always pay attention to all the ads in the program.

It would be great to get a "clean" version of "one hand clapping".
Like Rell', I don't normally pay attention to the ads in the convention program. Good that we have others on the forum that scout these things out. Thanks!

I, too have an emotional connection to BOTR. The title song sounds like Paul's Beatle days, so it was only natural I would love it. The album has a high caliber collection of now classics, so yeah, I will be getting a copy of this remastered gem.

Ram is one of my favorite albums/CDs. "Too Many People" is one of my all time favorite songs.

Band on the Run is my favorite album by an ex-Beatle.

I'm definitely going with the special edition. I have never seen the "One Hand Clapping" program so I want that DVD. I think this is going to be the fifth time I've bought the "Band On The Run" album: LP, Columbia CD, Paul McCartney Collection CD, 25th Anniversary CD, and now this one.

Same here, nothing "new" per say (i.e.: previously unreleased, period, or unreleased ob CD).

I like most of the songs on that album... but not to the point of wanting 5 remixed versions of "Jet", 4 of "Band on the run" ect... LOL. The originals were just fine enough as they were

The "One hand clapping" could be a fun watch, but I'd prefer it in CD form...

Part of me hopes that ALL those re-releases will be like this = won't be buying them (I wasn't looking THAT forward to re-buying and, in some cases re-re-buying all of Paul's albums, as he's released "a few" since 1970... $$$$$)

Default Rumored Band on the Run reissue track lists have McCartney fans anxious

Here's something I haven't heard before. According to Steve Marinucci of The Examiner the tracklists aren't official! Then what's with the tracklists published on Amazon??? Here's what he writes:

Rumored 'Band on the Run' reissue track lists have McCartney fans anxious

This unofficial track list info has been going around for a couple of weeks. The information is credited to Universal Music France, though there's no page for it on the UM France site.

Whether this is all accurate or not is anyone's guess, though they're been no denial, confirmation or even acknowledgment about these listings that we know of.

Amazon.com has a 3 CD/1 DVD deluxe version, a special single edition CD and a regular edition CD listed for release Nov. 2. The deluxe version, by the way, is priced at about $100.

If the track listings are correct, it appears we will finally see the release of the Wings film "One Hand Clapping," which featured the group in the studio and has been often bootlegged.

(And see the video below -- Paul McCartney singing "I'll Give You a Ring" live in the studio.)
