Default George on stage with Clapper + trivia question

This is a short but great performance Live. Eric Clapton with George playing guitar and they both rock their ... off, sometimes sounds a bit like the Apple Jam.

Okay - Trivia question for you all - when was this and where. The song is "Further On Up The Road"

I can't resist a trivia question!
It's from Clapton's 1978 tour, the date is Dec. 7, 1978, the place is Civic Hall, Guildford, Surrey.
And in addition to George joining on guitar for this song, that's Elton John joining on piano.

Cool video. I agree with the Apple Jam similarity. Whenever I see clips of George and Eric playing together, they always seem to be having so much fun.

You got it right.

The footage actually comes from a film called "Eric Clapton and his Rolling Hotel"

In 1979 Eric Clapton put his band in a three-carriage train originally at the disposal of Hermann Goering during the Nazi years in Germany, and traveled from town to town on the Continent, from one concert to the next. It was an easy way to transport and house the band and its equipment, and it offered ample opportunity for interviews, group interactions, and filming. Clapton talks about his music and his work and peaks the viewer's interest with stories about musicians like Jimi Hendrix and George Harrison. Interviews are balanced with performances by Muddy Waters, Elton John, and George Harrison, as well as Clapton and his band in full concert.

The tour started in Spain and went to France, Germany, back to France, Belgium, Netherlands and ended in the UK with the performance George attended on December 7, 1978 which also had Muddy Waters on stage two songs before the finale which had George and Elton John.

Thanks.I'd never seen that before.
I think when Eric plays with George he's even more inspired than usual.

George in his element - he could rock the hell out of a song and rock with the best of them. He could lose the moustache, though.
