Does you guitar have a name?
No, and I am wondering why. Maybe I could learn something.

Oh frog, every guitar needs a name. They're so special, you can't just treat them as objects! That way, when you travel alone with said guitar, you won't ever feel lonely because you'll have a little pal by your side. Not that I'm weird or anything...

My clarinet has a name...Clarie. How...original? ;)
I have yet to name my saxophone, electric, acoustic, and xylophone.
My friend told me to name my xylophone long ago, because it "creates a bond with our instrument" but I couldn't decide on the perfect name, so I just call it my xylimba.

My crappy little fender acoustic (with the action from hell) that I love dearly is called "Layla" although lately I've been considering changing it to "Olivia" because I like Olivia better than Pattie
I named my boyfriend's acoustic "Emily" after the song "See Emily Play" by Pink Floyd.
And then when I get an electric (I want either a Gretsch or a Epiphone Casino) I'll name it when i see it.

My acoustic guitar is named Eric after Eric Clapton. This is mostly because the first song I learned how to play on him was "Tears in Heaven".
He is a left-handed guitar of unknown vintage and parentage, and I love him anyway. My new bass guitar is named Jack, for Jack Bruce of Cream.
Will I ever give a guitar a Beatley name? Nah, probably not. My car is called Yoko Ono because she is white *a color oft-used by Yoko when decorating* and my cell phone is Stu Sutcliffe, because people think I'm cool when I say "oh, Stu's giving me a ring..."
Or not...sorry. To be back on topic, yes my guitars have names.

There you are.
You know, my guitar's name is Layla, yours is Eric...I think they may be soul mates.

Mine is called Harrison, wonder why? Years later I gave birth to my son, who is also called Harrison. So there are two Harrisons at my home: my guitar and my son.

And mine is Moptop, for the same reason!
Bex, I've never heard of "oh frog." That's a new one on this Hari fan!
George and Arthur had a lot of namesakes!
There is a woman down the street from me who has a very fat male pug named George Harrison (called Harrison) after her favorite Beatle. She spoils the chubby dog, picks him up and he really is a sweet, gentle dog who will give you all the pug cuddles you want.
There is man at a local bookstore who named his son George Harrison _______ after his favorite Beatle. There is a guy in a Beatle cover band (he plays the George part) who's guitar, in his words, "gently weeps."

Why yes, my guitars do have names. Aria is my bass, and Shiremi is my electric guitar. Even though it's not a guitar, my drums have separate names per piece (Zeus, Athena, Persephone, Apollo, Atremis, Dionysis, and Calypso), and as unoriginal as it most definitly is, I named the Piano Joanna.

I'm still stuck between a few -- Beatrice (after Bob Dylan's mom) or Loretta ("Get Back").
