Beatles Sleepover Party!
My friends and I are planning to have a "Beatles" theme party next month. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what we could do...movies, music, etc. Any recommendations to get everyone in the mood and enjoy the evening?
I was thinking of a Beatles trade or something along those lines. Let me know what you all think...you have good ideas!

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
Ahhh. Beatles sleepover parties are the best kinds of parties. It was at one such party that I became a Beatlefreak, and we had quite a few of these over the years, so let me throw out some ideas for you.
For us, two necessities were "Help!", and "A Hard Day's Night". Both are fun, upbeat movies that will prove to be fun for everyone. Also, one night, before any of us had the full video anthology, we rented it, and watched all 10 hours of it straight through. And if you have access to them, plenty of Beatles picture books are great to have around for everyone to flip through so that you can drool over the boys' extreme HOTTTness. We never did it, but I always thought it would be fun to have a bit of a dance party with Beatles, or 60s era, music. Take everyone back to the day. Something else along these lines would be watching "The First US Visit" which is a great documentary of their first visit to America, inclduing three appearances on Ed Sullivan, a concert in DC, and tons of footage of the guys being hilarious.
So there are my suggestions. Not anything great and theme-y, but I know we always had a blast doing this stuff!

Well, a game suggestion for you might be the Song Titles game. You can only speak in Beatle Song Titles, and if you mess up, your out.

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
I had a Beatle birthday party a couple of years ago (despite my cousin's complaints) and I had a coat rack, with "Street Signs" made out of paper, saying "Strawberry Fields" "Blue Jay Way" and "Penny Lane", Penny Lane pointed to a door way, in which we hung pennies from strings. My Dad alse made little cunstruction paper records, with different Beatle songs written on them. I had TONS of pictures of The Beatles, from when they were kids, up untill Abbey Road. For games, we thought of "Octupusses Garden" and we played 'Sharkes and Minnows' only with an Octupuss, every game, was titled a Beatles song, and we played that Beatles song as we played the game. It was one of my favorite partys I've ever had...

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
I wish I could be at your Beatle theme party!
Everybody else made excellent suggestions. How about this - insist on Moptop Coiffure for and if you have the game Beatlemania (Beatle version of Trivial Pursuit - I got mine at the 'Fest), or if you don't have that, play Beatles Jeopardy.
Be sure to do lots of dancing and play massive doses of Beatles. For dress, no jacket required, wear Beatle shirts and if your guests have Beatle buttons, ask them to wear those as well. Shake your bangs and shake your booty and really twist and shout!

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
<font color="green">omg.. now i HAVE to have a Beatles party, i finally found someone who lives by me that is a beatlemanic so i now have a ton of things we can do, thanks to you all! =D One of my ideas goes with the dancing bit, try as hard as possible to dress up in a sixties manner(vintage clothing is best) and put on some heavy duty eyeliner, heals, and dance your heart away! another idea would be to act and dress like your fav beatle and take pictures, uh next you can record you and your friends singing beatles songs on kareokee, play a trivia game and see how much you know about a certian beatles period, then watch concert vids and pretend you are really there (which is all i ever do lol), but just be careful and dont hurt yourself lol(its happend way too many times for me heh) [mom says "how'd u get that huge bruse on your leg??(arm, HEAD!)" hah].. anywho, theres some ideas.. =P
Peace&Love

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
Heyyy Penny! Did you have your sleep over yet? Gee, that sounds like a fab idea. I sure wish I had friends that would like to do that. Ohh.. ideas!!
Get in a circle in tell each other of your deepest darkest Beatle secrets, thoughts and dreams. Also, tell each other of dreams in general, fantasies, and other gear "Girl talking things". You can also brainstorm a Beatle story and write a fan fiction together. At night, sit in the dark with a flashlight and make up scary Beatle stories. Then before going to bed, meditate and try to speak to John, George, Brian, Stu, Mal Evans, and all the other gear Beatle people!
Buy some special materials and design your own Beatle clothing, clothes pens, buttons, hair gear, jewelry and other things to promote the Beatles.
Get on the computer and design Beatle flyers to post around your town to promote the Beatles. (Be sure to ask first)
Be sure to bring your instruments! It's time to play and learn new Beatle tunes. Make songs and chords of your own!
Get together and take turns reading parts of a Beatle song and anaylze it in your point of view, tell how your perceive these lyrics and what they mean to YOU. **Allow discussion and debates**
Go outside, take a camera, and take pictures of things that remind you of the Beatles in anyway, take note of it and when getting them developed, make sure everyone gets a copy. Add it to your scrapbook.
Redesign your room in the Beatles with your friend's help.
Get a bunch of money and go on a Beatles shopping spree.
Make a small, memorium scrapbook of the Beatles for this special night and for other nights to come. Add to it for each Beatle get-together you may soon have in the future.
Design Beatle buttons and other things, stand at the end of your street or go to busy parts of town and hand them out. It may turn other people to the Beatles **a very important job of a true Beatles fan**
Listen to your favorite Beatle albums on record.
Pop some pop corn, snuggle in a Beatles blanket, with your favorite Beatle gear on, and watch a Beatle movie of choice!!! Afterward, have a dicussion about it, telling your thoughts, favorite parts and lines, etc!
Ohhh... I have sooo many more ideas. But I will stop here. I will run out of my own original ideas!
Have a Beatle trivia game!!!! (Songs, Facts, Places, Important People etc)
Turn on your blacklite, colorful lites and other groovy gear and dance to all your Beatle tunes! **have a blast**
Have a dress up activity, dress up as your favorite Beatle girl, Beatle, or Beatle person and do each other's make up.
Make a Beatle script and play along! **Fun, fun, fun**
Play Beatle sherads. Guess what song, Beatle, Beatle person, Beatle place etc someone is trying to act out!

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
Good suggestions for the Beatle party.
Did you have it? If you have pictures, please share.
What Beatle activities did you decide on?
How many of you are George fans?

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
LOL, huge George fan here myself. And I think a good many members are Harrison biased. Hehehe. you're in good company
I have had several all night "Beatlefests" Erin mentioned them earlier. I have been lucky enough to have three other friends to be Beatlefreaks with. As Erin mentioned we watched tons and tons of Beatle footage, works especially well with the Anthologies watching them straight through. It is a must to have lots of books full of Beatles picture to drool over. As far as the collective fan fiction writing as and activity all I can say is be careful cause it's addictive. My friends and i started writing one together and ended up with over 900 handwritten pages now. It still isn't finished yet either...Anyway I loved all of the ideas mentioned, let me know how your party goes!

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
I agree with what everyone else has been telling you. I came up with another thing too. You could act all goofy like The Beatles during their early years! Start pillow fights! Make hilarious face expressions. Be all silly like. It's called a party so why not act the part of The Beatles as their goofy selves?

Good idea. I love it when people can be silly, be themselves and have a good time. I can't stand it when people are so uptight and boring

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
I think a Beatles sleepover would have been fun when I was a teenager! Too bad I didn't really have that many Beatle-buddies back then -- back in the 70s, believe it or not, it was the height of "uncool" to admit that you liked the Beatles if you were a teen. Some of my friends who are first generation fans, who are older than I am, say that they had such sleepovers back in the 60s, though...man, that would have been a blast!
I think some of the ideas people have come up with here are really amazing -- and sound like a lot of fun! We have some very creative minds here.

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
I know a couple people who were fans back in the 70's. They were made fun of, too. That is pretty sad. People dislike things because they're "old". What does age have to do with anything? If it's good, that is all that should matter. People care too much about what others think. People dislike, they use the word "hate" the Beatles because they don't give them a chance and because they're not "new". That aggervates me. People shouldn't say rude things to other people for liking something, they should respect it. But that's just that, and not only that, they make fun of things they simply don't understand. If they never heard their music, or know nothing about them, I personally feel that they should shut their pie hole.
Ok, wow. I am down rambling.

Re: Beatles Sleepover Party!
When I was in middle school, I think EVERY sleepover I had with my best friend, Kristina, turned into a Beatles-themed party. She had all of the movies, all of the CDs... I brought over my books... And we spent hours upon hours basking in the Beatley glory.

I understand what Susan is saying 100% - what I would have given to have had a Beatle slumber party when I was a teenager! Damn shame that the only Beatle buddies I had in the cultural wasteland otherwise known as the Stinky Seventies were people I met at Beatle conventions.
Thanks to the Internet, we can talk to people who speak our language, Beatle Speak from all over the world whenever we feel like it! I love that! And how truly heartwarmingly wonderful it is to have more people appreciating the talent that comprises the Beatles!
And yeah, a first-generation party would have been a HELL of a blast at that!
