The Apple Years box set
...is coming out soon, according to Dhani.
http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread...ox-set.369005/
Discuss while I go change my pants. Hoping for a generous amount of bonus material (not just one track per album), some Dark Horse tour stuff (audio + video), and Wonderwall and Electronic Sound to be included.
ETA: And the studio "Bangla Desh" and the iTunes-only "Isn't it a Pity" demo (I'm taking for granted that "I Don't Care Anymore" will be included, because come on)

Having bought the Dark Horse box set, this is definately on my 'To Buy' list.
My wife showed me the Instagram pic that Dhani posted and I could see the Dark Horse box set but nothing to do with 'Extra Texture' or 'Dark Horse' so I'll have another look!

I believe it's the box to the left of the Dark Horse Years box. It's kind of odd, because I'm not 100% sure but the DHY set always looked like a pic of George from around 1970 (six years before the first album in that set) and the one on the Apple set looks like it's around 1965 (three years earlier).
But they could easily be 1978 and 1968 respectively, which would fit.

I think this is great news! Good to hear Dhani's working on George's music and his old records. I'm looking forward to hear if there's going to be any bonus material especially on ET which is one of my favourite albums even after all these years.
And the rumored DVD? Could it be something from the Dark Horse Tour? Man, I love all this speculation, just like in the good old days of B'Links!

The number of discs may be incorrect (no official confirmation of the Box has been announced yet so it's contents are pure speculation) but a company like Universal uses the same AISN for the same product on sale in territorial Amazon sites.
If you look at the Amazon US, UK and Italian sites linked above, the AISN matches.

Good news indeed !
Just one thing though... if, as was implied by someone on the link in the very first post, for these ''new'' releases of ''All things must pass'' and ''Living in the material world'', they use only the same bonus material than on the past re-releases, then I hope they will also release those as individual CD's so that we don't wind-up having to re-buy both of those.
Also, I'd definately not be keen on also ''having'' to get ''Electronic noise'', via that CD set, if it only comes out as a set.

As all of the Dark Horse Years CDs were available separately, it's sensible to assume the same will happen with the albums included in the Apple Years box set.
I'm still waiting for this set to be officially announced, and the wait leads me to suspect that it won't be out in September as is being quoted on various Beatles News sites.

The box is currently priced at £87:99 on Amazon (UK), down from £110:00.

There's a nice trailer for the upcoming box set live on the official site now plus the ability to pre-order directly from the official online shop - and it's available at quite a good price too - only £5 less than Amazon UK excluding P&P):
http://www.georgeharrison.com/
The DVD contents are as follows (apparently):
George Harrison – The Apple Years Feature (2014) [7:27] - Directed By Olivia Harrison
All Things Must Pass (bonus feature in 2001 album package) [8:03]
The Concert for Bangladesh EPK (2005) [6:03]
Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) (Live In Japan, 1991) [3:43]
Miss O’Dell (alternative version from 2006 deluxe edition of LITMW) [2:31]
Sue Me Sue You Blues (acoustic demo version from 2006 deluxe edition of LITMW) [3:04]
Living In The Material World (feature from 2006 deluxe edition of LITMW) [3:34]
Ding Dong, Ding Dong (original promo video, 1974) [3:46] - Directed by George Harrison
Dark Horse (original promotional clip, 1974) [:30]

My original plan was to just pick up Wonderwall, Electronic Sound, Dark Horse, and Extra Texture, and then get a used copy of LITMW down the line for "Bangla Desh" but BullMoose.com has a great price on the box set so I went for it. Can't complain about upgrading ATMP.

I have ATMP and LITMW already on remastered CD with Dark Horse, Extra Texture and Wonderwall on vinyl but have never owned a copy of Electronic Sound.
If I was to get just the latter four on remasterd CD alone, it would cos me £60 so I decided to pay the extra £15 for the whole box set.

Yeah, originally it looked like the box was a lot more expensive than picking up the individual titles--much like it was with the Dark Horse Years set a decade ago. But the DVD in that package (which, initially, was exclusive to the set) seemed substantial enough to justify spending the difference. This time, not so much, especially since I already have the deluxe LITMW.
But let's be honest, I was never not going to get the box set; I'm just thankful I found it at a price where I don't feel like I'm spending a ton more on a pretty sparse DVD and a (hopefully) upgraded ATMP--a title that I'm hoping will be given the super deluxe treatment for its 50th anniversary in six years. (Of course, the Harrison estate's idea of "super deluxe" would be to add three new bonus tracks, a nine-minute DVD, and a poster.)

ATMP, like all the most of the other albums*, are new 2014 remasters.
* - I believe that LITMW is the 2006 remaster with the 'Bangladesh' single added as a bonus track alongside the existing two bonus tracks.

Mine arrived on Saturday. I still wish there were more bonus tracks, but you can't deny that it's a really nice-looking package. I've only listened to ATMP so far, which sounds better than the 2001 CD.
