A glass of wine with Gertrude Stein I know I'll never share.
But I don't mind, that's just the kind of cross each man must bear.

I'm not the kind of guy who likes to play big brother,
But I just seen your date outside. He's with another.
I saw you both come in
And clearly you're not meant for him
So, please, please, hold my hand.
Hold my hand, yeah, yeah.
Hold my hand, yeah, yeah.
Hold my hand and I'll see you home.
I want to tell you I'm in love with you completely.
I'd like to take you far away from here discreetly.
Our love was meant to be
And, darling, it's a certainty.
Oh, please, please, hold my hand.

If you listen to their album backwards, it tells you to take tea.

From the Rutle buttons: Ron is Nasty, Dirk is Fab, Stig is Dead, Barry is Gear

The films are hilarious! I nearly died of laughter watching them. And yes, the scene with George is the best
The songs are absolute masterpieces! Neil Innes did a great job.

I managed to catch The Rutles (well, Nasty and Barry) live in concert in Edinburgh last year and was delighted when they announced another batch of UK tour dates this month.
Going to see them in Glasgow in three weeks time.

Like Stu's!
The Rutles were a brilliant parody. My peeves:
I didn't like "Piggy in the Middle" or "Love Life" one bit. Also "Twist & Rut" and "A Hard Day's Rut" are not clever parodies as the creator of them had to stretch and the only nod to parody was to sneak in the word "rut." That wasn't clever like the well arranged songs themselves.
Dirk looked less like Paul than his fellow Rutles looked like their real Beatles counterparts.
I still love George in disguise!
