Come on your priorities are arguing with one or 2 people in a thread on that 'local' artist West?!
if id just seen Dhani i know what id be writing about!!
Am actually interested in hearing your review, as i am Gonna be seeing FOM in April.. did they do a Dylan cover? if so which one..
Doubt they will in Australia as Bob is playing the same festival, but anyways get your priorities and translations in order!!

Thanks for posting these clips, and photo's!. Really nice to hear and see back, even with the zonder microphone comment. Not to sure about the additional vocals tho.
But very beautiful, shivers down the spine.

If nothing else suffices, FP can post the Dutch original. I'm sure there's an online translator somewhere to make a bit of sense of it. Hopefully the one I use does better with Dutch music reviews than Serbian cooking. Some of those recipes were rather - amazing.

We were sooooo close to the stage, we could almost touch Dhani!
FP said we had to find our place on the left side of the stage, cuz that was where Dhani would be.
There's one picture I made cuz it made me laugh....
They didn't have there own "chairs" to sit on so they took them from the 'garderobe'...wardrobe?

I missed that part about taking the chairs from wardrobe.
I was even closer to stage. Have a picture of me and Dhani to prove it.

On December 7 Adri - aka taxgirl, Richard aka Legs and myself saw the concert of Fistful Of Mercy in Amsterdam.
For me it was the first time I saw a Harrison on stage and it was a fabulous experience.
I knew Dhani would sit at the left so we took that side in the small but cosy Paradiso venue and there was an up-step so Adri could stand somewhat higher to have a great view only 3 metres from Dhani. From there Adri could take good pictures and video's which are included.
One can see that Dhani is the leader of the band for instance with the count downs which often a drummer does but they don't have one so in most of the songs Dhani had the organisation.
Often it is said that the band consists of the three guys but in real also the amazing beautiful Jesse Green on violin is a very important part of the band and I saw so much eye contact between Jesse and Dhani.
Ben Harper is the most emotional guy in the band and plays such amazing guitar and sings with so much passion.. He played the guitar in the Pete Drake way but also played several accoustic and electric guitars and one had the Dark Horse logo on it.
Joe Arthur I did not know but he has such a great influence in the band, sits in the middle and has a drumkit at his feet which makes him the Jim Keltner of the band doing percussion with his feet whilst also playing guitar. Quite something.
I also noticed a change in the band from when they started. Then they were an accoustic band just playing accoustic guitars and playing their album. Now they have included personal songs and covers so where it was expected to just last 90 minutes it became a lot longer. Also they now play quite heavy Jimi Hendrix related music all three of them with also Jesse Green contributing her violin sound to it.
Now, there was often a very heavy rock sound where the electric guitars were heavy and what I noticed that they were often just jamming their way through the songs and especially Dhani and Joe were doing these guitar duals just like George did with Eric Clapton on stage.
Also in a few songs Dhani played a normal 6 string electric however as a bass so mainly using the low 4 strings like George did in the Get Back sessions.
The last song they played without microphones just all standing next to eachother in this cosy Paradiso and singing in harmony with simple guitars and violin which was amazing and they made contact with the audience shaking hands for which I was just 10 seconds too late to reach Dhani yet they were all so friendly to the audience.
Here is the setlist
- I Don't Want To Waste Your Time
- In Vain Or True
- As I Call You Down
- Buckets of Rain
(Bob Dylan cover)
- 30 Bones

I was going to wait as long to comment as it took you to get up your review, Rob, but I decided to be nice for a change.
Great review! I can almost imagine being there. Too bad the tour was cut short but at least you guys got to see them.
