"Sgt. Pepper's Inner Groove" was a 0:02 second bit tacked on to the trail out after "A Day In The Life". It was a prank, thought up by John, because turntables at that time did not have an auto-arm lift when the record was finished.
The first part of this "track" was a dog whistle, followed by the gibberish; "Never could be any other way." The needle would bounce back when it reached the end and repeat the above sentence over and over, until you lifted the arm off of the record.
Only a small amount of albums with this "track" were released. Subsequent releases of the Sgt Pepper's LP removed it from the record.

I wouldn't class the inner groove a song. It's just random noise. That's why Rev #9 isn't really considered a song either. The smallest officially recorded song is, 'Her Majesty'. The longest is Rev #9 which lasts for over 10 minutes!

the longest not released is Helter Skelter!! That would be so awesome if they ever released the 22 min Helter Skelter version.

The Pepper Inner Groove alledgedy was cut off most pressing because of a claim that when played backwards,there is a very naughty thing said.

Excuse the language (this is meant to be their words, and not mine), but I believe it is something like;

'We will fuck you like supermen'

I haven't made that up - I read it somewhere that I seem to remember was quite a reliable source at the time (I think it was a quote from one of the boys)
