Congrats you've spotted the mistake. Unfortunately I've run out of prizes, because I've made mistakes before. Spelling errors, thinking it was Monday while it was Tuesday etc.

The Capitol Albums...

Perhaps the only correct way to go is that you just release them all, including The Beatles Story plus all the American albums such as United Artists' A Hard Day's Night. If you don't publish them someone else will. Collectors can't but buy everything whether it's crap or not.

So the only economic way for volume 3 is:

Yesterday And Today
Revolver
Sgt Pepper
Magical Mystery Tour

- Yesterday and Today must have both butcher and trunk covers or someone will cry; Revolver, Sgt Pepper and MMT are similar to UK versions in exception that they lack something.

The best solution with MMT would be that the UK release will only release the EP and not the album; it would make the Capitol album more interesting album to buy.

Behold my wise words!

Hey Jude

Which will be the final in the Capitol series. They don't bother releasing all the 70's releases because
A. They were crap and
B. They were released worldwide and any releases of these albums are in the hands of Aplle/EMI.

The third volume will be released in November 2006 after the U.K. remasters.

In June Apple/ EMI and Capitol in the U.S. will release "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in both mono and stereo. Followed by the rest of the U.K. catalogue.

"Live at the hollywood bowl" will be released sometime next year, followed by "the christmas collection" .
After that every fan will be satisified, hadn't it been for the exclusion of "Revolver" on the Capitol box set.

I think the 70's compilations were some of the greatest packages ever made.

Really?
"Love Songs" looked nice, but the rest were terible packages. With the "1" compilation the re-masters and the Capitol box set, these 70's compilations are obsolete, and there is no real need to release them on cd.

Some of those compilations are a true pain in the collector's neck.

Hmm. Well I thought 62-66 and 67-70 were the best compilations ever made. I think any Baetles fan born after they broke up, would probably say that either one was their first Beatles record. I'm glad they released them on CD.

Rock N Roll Music was not the greatest, I'll give that. As a matter of fact, its probably the only one I wouldnt consider releasing on CD.

Reel Music is a great album if you loved the films.

20 Greatest hits should be released as a bargain CD. I remember when it came out on record (as young as I was) it was a brilliant idea. All 20 of their North American number 1 hits put onto 1 CD for a bargain price.
I guess it wouldnt make sense to release it now since "1" is already out, but it was still a great complilation. I only see it doing well if its released at a cheaper price.(or a part of the Capitol Albums set)

Love Songs is a great album. It blows the UK Ballads album out the water. I think Capitol did great with that one.

Release them all. The fans want them.

They are like "I don't need that but I have to buy it". It's only that you want to live again the feeling you have when you are buying a "new" Beatles album.

Hello Everyone:

I believe that the albums that will comprise "The Capitol Albums Vol. 3" are the following:
Yesterday and Today, Revolver, Hey Jude (released by Capitol during 1970 includes singles and tracks not released in previous Capitol albums in the States at that time) and Rarities. Forget about the compilations. Maybe The Beatles At Hollywood Bowl although I think it would be a separate release.

I don't think the Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mistery Tour albums are to be included since there are plans to release the original remastered cd releases scheduled for this year which will include all the original EMI/Parlophone releases.

Why Would A Single Come Out On An "Album" Collection?

If you mean "Hey Jude" then that was an album too. The tracks were

Can't Buy Me Love
I Should Have Known Better
Paperback Writer
Rain
Lady Madonna
Revolution
Hey Jude
Old Brown Shoe
Don't Let Me Down
Ballad Of John And Yoko

Your choice is possible but somehow I can't see people wanting Rarities that much and somehow it's not quite 'period', i.e. it was after the separation.
I still go for MMT since it was Capitol's finest hour.
As for Hiollywood Bowl, it's been said before but I'll say it again, there was nothing specifically Capitol about it.It was a worldwide release.

It would make sense to release MMT if it does not materialize in the future remasters.

At least that is what I wished for.

Default Summer of Love

Okay, not related to the Capitol Albums I guess, but this is my first post and the thread that I was reading.

Are they planning anything 'Pepper'-related for the summer since this will be the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love? I wonder...
