Default Today\'s Harrisong suggestion Volume 2

Time to make a new topic after close to 2500 views.

I'm just listening to the one I would choose for today;

George's goes country again

What a fantastic song, I have about 5 different versions, so I don't know which is playing now, but Pete Drake's steel guitar is very much involved.

The backing vocals are fantastic.

Amazing this one did not make the original album.

I Live For You

ALL ALONE IN THIS WORLD OF MINE,
NOT A CARE FOR THIS WORLD HAVE I,
ONLY YOU KEEP MY EYES OPEN WIDE,
YES, IT'S TRUE, I LIVE FOR YOU.

NOT A THING IN THIS WORLD DO I OWN,
ONLY SADNESS AND MOURN THAT IS GROWN
IN THIS DARKNESS I WAIT FOR THE DAY,
YES, IT'S TRUE, I LIVE FOR YOU.

THROUGH MANY TEARS I'VE WAIT,
THROUGH MANY TEARS I'VE WEEPED.

ALL THIS TIME MY THOUGHTS RETURN TO YOU,
GIVE MY LOVE THAT IS ALL I CAN DO,
WAIT IN LINE TILL I FEEL YOU INSIDE,
YES, IT'S TRUE, I LIVE FOR YOU

THROUGH MANY YEARS I'VE WAIT,
THROUGH MANY TEARS I'VE WEEPED.

ALL THIS TIME MY THOUGHTS RETURN TO YOU,
GIVE MY LOVE THAT IS ALL I CAN DO,
WAIT IN LINE TILL I FEEL YOU INSIDE,
YES, IT'S TRUE, I LIVE FOR YOU.

A true gem that would have made ATMP an even better album. In fact, any album would have been better with this song on it.

A little close to country is my next choice, for this Sunday;

If Not For You

Not Harrison written, but still very different than the Dylan original.

Nice ATMP combination of the mouth organ, acoustic guitar, Pete Drake's pedal steel guitar and keyboards.

This song really has what George calls the ATMP Echo sound.

If not for you
Babe, I couldn't even find the door
I couldn't even see the floor
I'd be sad and blue, if not for you

If not for you
Babe, the night would see me wide awake
The day would surely have to break
It would not be new, if not for you

If not for you, my sky would fall
Rain would gather, too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost, if not for you

If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
Couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you

If not for you, my sky would fall
Rain would gather, too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost, if not for you

If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
Couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you

If not for you

I love this song! George's voice is so sweet and sounds great on this one. He really did a great job on Bob's song!

AWESOME cover version by George of If Not For You! I think I like it better than Dylan's version!

Yeah, I taped the Bob tribute show, and thought George's performance there was great also. It was great to see George having such a good time performing!

George did an awesome job on covering "If Not For You". Bob's version is alright, but George really nailed it.

Today my choise is

Here Comes The Sun

because of another sunny day in Rotterdam.

And because I played part of Abbey Road this morning and this one is also really that album sound, with George introducing the moog.

The fresh guitar chord picking was also pretty much made clear during the Bangla Desh concert.

I love the ending of the song, which is a real ending.

Great song. One of George's all time classics and the perfect song for a sunny day. Just wish it was sunny over here!

"Here Comes the sun" is one of my favorite George songs to play at a high volume on the stereo. The guitar work is so beautiful and the song is perfect for a springlike day. Hmmm...it's sunny out right now. Time to turn on the stereo???? Perfect song choice for me too, as it is a sunny day in my part of the world also! And the days will just get sunnier!

Here Comes the Sun, such a joyous song about the re-emergence of the sun after the long darkness of winter! It makes your soul sing!

And great guitar work too!

Here Comes The Sun was the first song I heard on the radio after I heard that George had died. An excellent choice for so many reasons.

"Here Comes The Sun" is one of my favorites off of Abbey Road. Definitely a classic.

Here Comes The Sun

(Harrison)

Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right.

Little darling,
It's been a long cold lonely winter.
Little darling,
It feels like years since it's been here.

Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right.

Little darling,
The smiles returning to the faces.
Little darling,
It seems like years since it's been here.

Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right.

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling,
I feel that ice is slowly melting.
Little darling,
It seems like years since it's been clear.

Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right.
It's all right.
