Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
I have a few things that mean a lot to me, dont know how rare they are though, anyway, my Ringo Autograph, personally signed when I met him in Dublin, (btw- on that subject, anyone agree with me that a bought Autograph is only worth the paper its written on?)
But I digress, I have a lovely pendant, from circa 1964 with the boys on a kind of holographic image, bought in Liverpool a few years ago, a Magical Mystery Tour EP, with booklet in pristine condition, a complete White Album, with a fairly low number, (that is it starts with 2 zeros!!) and all 4 pictures, poster and lyric sheet, a 'Pepper picture disc, quite a few books, some of the really early ones like 'Hard Days Night' a book written by John Burke in 1964 and 'Help' by Al Hine in 1965 and autographed by Charlie Lennon, John's Uncle. I also have a couple of photos of John on the plane on his way to Gibralter, which I 'borrowed' from an Irish TV station on the night John was murdered, they are press photos, and mounted on black card. I have many vinyl albums and singles, some original issues and some re-issues, but my favourite has to be an original 'Strawberry Fileds/Penny Lane' in its original picture sleeve. I also feel funny about foreign, that is to say other than UK issues of albums and singles, I am really only interested in UK editions, or if I cant get them, Irish ones, dont ask why!!

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
You know something, someone who I thought of as my best friend also envied me, so much so that she now refuses to talk to me, because I got backstage to meet Ringo and she didnt, (we are talking about a 50 year old woman here!) It was a few years ago and I have come to the realisation that she wasnt a real freind anyway, but it really hurt at the time.
I would like to think that if I was in her shoes, I would be glad for anyone who got an opportunity that I didnt, she didnt get to the back stage door before the security men closed it, because she wouldnt leave the bar in time, and I did, it so easily could have been the other way around, but thems the breaks. What would you have done....?
I just remembered, I have the re-issued vinyl All Things Must Pass, (UK) which I bought in Liverpool, and I think that it will probably become my most cherished posession, I have heard that there was only a very limited issue. I try to buy all my new stuff in Liverpool, another little fetish of mine, so often when something new comes out, I have to wait until my next Liddypool visit before I can buy it! How sad is that??

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
I know this won't be rare but seems a good place to ask about it. A friend who knows I'm feeling a bit low tried to cheer me up by giving me his entire vinyl collection. Most of it is not exactly to my taste but one thing I want to ask about.
It is 'The Beatles Box' by Reader's Digest. It is a box with eight LP's in it with about 16 songs per LP. Nice compilation albums. They seem to be in cronological order with a little story on the back of each relating to that period. It dates from 1980. The ones he gave me have never been played and the sleeves are in perfect order. The box has a slightly battered appearance. Has anyone seen this one?

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
I have the four photos from the 1965 tour of usa, specifically candlestick park concert. i am looking for a person, who is licensed to authenticate these photos and autographs. i was the stewardess on the charter to sfo from lax and went to the concert in the armored car with eula aulin (miss teenage america) and another stewardess. it was windy and cold, but the lads kept us entertained both on the flight up and back. i spilled a big bowl of cornflakes that john had ordered especially for the flight......as they dripped off his nose and hair. he was really sweet about all of it and signed my autograph, 'thanks for the cornflakes' love, john lennon. if you can email me anyone's name or contact, i'd really appreciate it. thanks & i'm still a 'stewardess/flight attendant/purser' after all these years. this, above all, is my best memory though.

The rarest Beatle item I have is an original Meet the BEatles album. The only thing is I don't know how much it's worth or anything...I'm thinking about getting it appraised...

I can help you on that. Firstly, is the word BEATLES on the front cover Brown? Original first issues wer in brown, later pressings were in green and reissues were in olive.
Secondly, there were a number of original copies pressed of this album which didn't carry any crediting info (i.e. BMI, Ascap). If your copy just has the name of the song, the writer(s) and the length then you have a rarity.

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
Welcome Lindy!
Well, I doubt my favorite items are rare, but they do have sentimental value.
I have one of those trays from the '60's with all the Beatles faces on it, and their fake autographs. My Dad picked it up just for me at a local flea market in Carlisle, PA.
I also have a "Beatles Live At the Hollywood Bowl" LP that he acquired for me through a friend for my 10th birthday. This year I will celebrate my 10th year with it.

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
This is another super sharing link.
I have an original "Beatles on Broadway" book
and an actual(not repro) USA tour book from'66. Both of these were passed on to me
for free. I also have a Japanese laserdisc
(not a bootleg!) of one of the Budukan concerts which I bought at a record show at
Wildwood, a New Jersey shore resort.
I really enjoyed reading about all your
treasures!
Thanks!

Harb, I have the original in brown letters. I have all the albums bought first hand as a teenager and the early ones including each version of Introducing the Beatles which I bought in the mid 60's as a young teenager and played them until the covers got well worn. could you blame me as a kid with a new Beatle album? I would never sell them but am curious as to the value. They are definitely originals but have seen better days. What do you think? My Introducing the Beatles are actually not in that bad a shape but I did write my name on the cover so my little sister would know whose they were.

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
Does it have the crediting info on the labels like I mentioned?

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
Yes, it has EMI and ASCAP. My collection is original, not super rare, and I was wondering of the depreciation of the well worn jackets and lps, though certainly in playable condition. For example, I have a white album with serial number on the front but it has seen better days.

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
Hmmm...that's a toughie... I guess I could say, my Beatles Anthology 2 Album. It's the first pressing of it and it's nevah been opened. Either that or my A Hard Day's Night Album, it's in mint condition. I have most of the Beatles albums, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Something New Something New, Abbey Road, The White Album w/ original poster, The Beatles Again. You name it, I prolly have it on LP. But, the one I would give my soul away for is Help! in good condition!

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
Well, I don't think I own anything that is actually worth any money. Maybe this one thing, a little plastic ring, it changes pictures when you move it side-to-side. One view says "I'm John - Beatles" and the other view is a picture of him.
For some reason it just cracks me up that it says "I'm John - Beatles".
Most of the other stuff I have is magazine articles and such. And records. But newer.

Re: Your Rarest Beatle Item...
I have many collectables. From the bobbing head dolls to the remco dolls and the nodder dolls and various LP's with colored vinyl, second state butcher and 45 pic sleeves. But the most valuable and rarest item i have is the original John Lennon Roots LP from AdamVIII. ordered dirctly from the television. It featured 2 more songs than the Rock and Roll LP ( Be My Baby and Angel Baby) I also have many other things of interest such as buttons and badges and bubble gum cards. Its been a lifelong addiction.
