Default Beatles Locations in London

Not too long from now, I'll be going to London for the first time. Unfortunately, only one day will be dedicated to anything Beatles due to the fact that I'm with a group, and we are going to be touring other places. Last day is a free day which means Abbey Road, here I come!

Many of you may consider this as a sin, but I'll admit that I do not know all the Beatles related locations in London. That's where I want you guys to help me. From one Beatles fan to another:

I was hoping you all can help me get down every Beatles location that there is to see in London, especially stressing on the must sees, like Abbey Road, since I will have only one day. Even so, I want to make this one Beatles-filled day worth it, so I will want to see whatever possible.

And thanks! I really appreciate it!

Also, is it possible to get into EMI/Abbey Road Studios? I would love to go see the main studio where they recorded...if possible.

Thanks FPSHOT. I really appreciate the help. =]

Since everything is so scattered, I definately have to narrow down what should definately be seen where as to what is Beatles related, but not that important, you know? Even though I do want to see them all because who knows when I'll be going back...But, I must stress on the must sees.

Anywho, does anyone recommend any great Beatles tours that I should definately think about?

Can't really think of any London ones except there are 2 Beatle walking tours around the London sights.

I went on one a long, long time ago and it was good in that you see in person on foot (rather than through a bus window) the places and you are taken there directly rather than you having to struggle with a map working out how to get there!

What I don't like about things like this is that the other people on the tours can be really annoying. If you are all freaky possessive of the Beatles the way I am, I get all protective and these places to me are sacred and should be respected!! haahaaa!

Both of the tours are taken by Richard Porter. Here is a link to info:

I agree. Thank you for the link. You too Jerry, thanks! =]

So, I'm guessing you can write on the wall...Would you get in trouble for that? If someone catches you, I mean...

And, does anyone know if it is possible to get inside Abbey Road Studios? I highly doubt it...but, I'd like to see if it is possible...

Yup you can write all the wall all you like and you won't get in trouble! They re-paint it every couple of months from all the writing that gets done on it. It is quite fun to read some of the stuff on there too!

It is hard to get in BUT I have a couple of friends who wandered in and were in there for a bit! haahaaa! Before they could get anywhere too exciting, they were told to leave! I wouldn't try that myself. I would only want to go in knowing that I was allowed to be in there.

I went to college in London (from Atlanta!) just so I could see all the Beatle places in 3D. Of course, Paul's house on 33 Cavendish is right around the corner from Abbey Road. There are tons of spots (many since gone like the Apple Botique building and EMI), but the best thing I ever did was sneak onto the roof of Apple at 3 Saville Row. You can totally do it!

When I went there, Apple at 3 Saville Row was closed down. I didn't know that. Of course, once I found out, I was so tempted to just go in and sneak up on the roof myself. Unfortunately, I went there on a day that wasn't free for us, and I had to meet up with the group 5 minutes after I got there. But, I did take the red flowers growing outside the window and I am trying to dry them out. Great souvineers from there!

But yeah, I just got back from my trip to London. I absolutely loved it. Went to great places like Abbey Road, Apple at Saville, the boutique, the train station where the beginning of AHDN was filmed [I tripped on the street George did on purpose. haha] and some other places near Marylebone. I really wanted to go to Chiswick Gardens, other AHDN locations, and Help! locations, but having only 5 hours free in London can have its limits. Not enough time to find it and navigate in unfamiliar territory. Great experience though and I can't wait to go back...not with a group this time. haha.
