I would like to know of the people that have not heard of Johnny Mathis, are there others in this list that you have never heard of? Just curious.

I've never heard of Mitch Miller?
I'm surprised Johnny Mathis is so high too!

Mitch Miller ("Yellow Rose of Texas), I think, was a country singer in the 50s (wait, I think I'm thinking of Roger Miller). Someone correct me, if I'm wrong. Johnny Mathis (who has a beautiful singing voice, did songs such as "Chances Are," "It's Not For Me to Say," "Gina," "Misty" etc.

Mitch Miller was a band leader, he also recorded the River Kwai March and several other famous instrumentals. He didn't sing himself. You were indeed confusing him with Roger Miller ("King of the Road").
Johnny Mathis' website:

Looks like he'll be releasing a new album. Let's hope it doesn't chart too long...

The only person on the list I didn't know was Mantovani; I had to go look him up. Apparently he did a lot of "space-age pop" music, and on a website about him it says "He is reputed to have been the first act in the music business to sell over one million stereo recordings, and as a quick look at most thrift store music sections will tell you, he pushed out an incredible volume of product."

I've heard of Montavoni, I think he might've done instrumental music..I don't know about him too well. I've heard his name mentioned on TV shows.

Mantovani even gets name-checked in Yellow Submarine, the movie! And yes, he sold an awful amount of albums. He was in fact the biggest seller of long play albums right up to the early 1970s - then the Beatles took the lead and never looked back since.
