And Natale Wood drowned on this day in 1981.
RIP, all.

17 years ago today....
Just thought that I'd mention, for those interested, or for those (like me) that are die-hard fans, that it was 17 years ago today (Nov 29, 1986) that the great Cary Grant left this world. He was the greatest leading man ever!
My favorite CG film (and I'm sure that this goes for many of the girls here) is An Affair To Remember. I'll be watching it today to remember Cary, as well as listening to the great Mr Harrison's music.
Just thought I'd mention this to any who were interested!

What is it with November 29th? So many sad occurences on one day! My birthday (December 2)is sandwiched in between the passing of George and the murder of John, so I'll be doing a lot of remembering and honoring for the next few days.

Re: 17 years ago today....
Wow... I didn't know the exact date of Cary Grant's death, let alone that it was anywhere near the day that George passed on. Or that Natalie Wood died on the 29th either. Now I have four lives to commemorate each November -- Cary's, George's, Natalie's and that of my friend who was killed in a car accident two years ago on the 15th.
I think that Cary Grant (a.k.a. Archie Leach -- wonder why he changed his name!) was one of the most handsome, debonaire actors to ever grace the Silver Screen. He and Paul McCartney are my longest standing crushes!!! *sigh* Mr. Grant is terribly missed -- with the exception of a few Hollywood stars (such as Tom Hanks) there aren't many classy movie stars out there anymore.

Re: 17 years ago today....
Wow! I never realized that. Two of my favorite men died on the same day. Cary Grant *..*sigh*..they don't make leading men like that anymore. A total class act. Much like our George...as well as Natalie Wood. This truly is a red letter day. All of them were such great, legendary talents in their own rights. We miss you all.

Re: 17 years ago today....
Ah...I am so glad to know that I am not the only Cary girl on the board! I spent the day not only remembering GH (with the music and Beatles films), but also watching many of my favorite Cary films. That man was so lovely!!! I just adore him!!! I had forgotten that it was also the day that we lost Natalie Wood. Wow....
Yes, it is certainly good to know that there are fellow Cary girls on this board!!! You girls have good taste!!!
For Mr Grant--the epitome of class, charm, and GOOD LOOKS!
This is for you Archie------>

Re: 17 years ago today....
Cary Grant was GORGEOUS! I consider him to be one of my top ten fave actors.I remember there was a statement that went something like: "Everyone wanted to be Cary Grant, including me!" made by Mr. Grant himself.
I realize that in reality he was nowhere near the persona he embodied on screen, but the persona is what I'll always remember him for. He was just wonderful. I think An Affair To Remember is a really beautiful, touching story. I love Deborah Kerr as well. She was such an outstanding actress and a classy lady. I thought they were amazing together. Anyway...just my thoughts on CG!

Cary Grant was gorgeous! He never lost it, either -- he was sexy and suave until the day he died...and he could have parked his shoes under my bed ANYTIME, lemme tell ya!
It is really nice to find that there are others who still appreciate him...sigh...
