Default Concert for George CD

I bought this CD Sunday and have played it all week. I love George, but am not up on everything.
WHO the heck is Joe Brown???
Also, does anyone know why Bob Dylan wasn't in on this?? They were so close all along, it seemed to me he'd want to be part of this. Any thoughts???

Here's a little info:
http://www.ents24.com/web/artist/228..._Bruvvers.html

"Joe Brown And The Bruvvers
Joe started his musical career as a guitarist, working with the likes of Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran. In 1960, he formed his own group Joe Brown & The Bruvvers and had numerous top ten hits including the number 1 hit 'Picture Of You'. Joe has also starred in six major motion pictures, and appeared many times on the West End stage. Unlike many other stars from the 60s who have reformed their bands now that there is such interest in their music again, Joe has never stopped working, he performs nearly 200 shows a year and has kept his music current throughout."

He was a good friend of George's, I believe he had a radio show at some point. His wife is singing with George on the video for Shanghai Surprise, you can see it on the DVD that came with the Dark Horse box set. Hope this bit helps.

I'd never heard of Joe Brown before the concert either!

but, what i've discovered:

Cyn, you may recognize this pic:
http://crackerboxpalace.0catch.com/p...geowguitar.jpg

that's Joe's guitar, Mike McCartney took the photo. The story is that The Beatles were on the bill with Joe's Bruvvers and while Joe was in the toilet George took the guitar and had Mike snap a quick picture before putting the instrument back. ..or something like that.
Mike Mac says in one of his photo books that George and Joe became friends years later so at the time of this picture i don't think they even knew eachother yet.

and correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Joe credited with getting George into the uke?
