what album is it's johnny's birthday on, what does it celebrate, and have you ever really listened to the whole side?

I do not know what it celebrates and I've never listened to any of Apple Jam.

It celebrates John's 30th birthday.

Apart from George, Mal Evans and Eddie Klein also performed on the track. The tune was so similar to that of the Eurovision song 'Congratulations', witten by Bill Martin and Phil Coulter, that the two songwriters claimed royalties - and received them!

I always listen to the whole "Apple Jam", specially as background music when I have to study or concentrate in something else... It is a great instrumental work.

Me too Darkhorse, I believe that this part has always been underrated. I find it also interesting to figure out who plays what, who'se guitar mainly.

He most certainly was. That's where Derek and the Dominos started and they even rehearsed some songs from their first album during the Jams.
