The last Beatles recordings
Many believe the last album the Beatles recorded was Abbey Rd, which was release before Let it Be. Let it Be was largely recorded before Abbey Road. Let it Be was not post-produced in time due to disagreements.
That is not quite true as I Me Mine, in Let it Be, was recorded from 3 January 1970 to 1 April 1970, starting 5 months after Abbey Road's last recording session on 20 August 1969. In fact Ringo went in on 1 April 1970 to work on "Across the Universe", "The Long and Winding Road" and an extra drum track for "I Me Mine". The last recordings of Let it Be were 8 months after the last Abbey Road session. Let it Be recordings straddled the Abbey Rd recordings. The first recorded Let it Be track "Across the Universe" was recorded in February 1968. Let it Be recordings stretched over 2 years and 2 months. The very last recording of any Beatles song was by Ringo on 1 April 1970, "I Me Mine".
However, It could be argued that the Free as a Bird/Real Love reunion sessions in 1994 were the last ever recorded by "The Beatles".
The 20 August 1969 Abbey Rd album session was the last time all four played together. John Lennon was not present in the 1970 recordings for the Let it Be tracks, which were all credited to "The Beatles".
