Your favourite Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd song?
It is such a pity that Syd was forced to leave Pink Floyd so early on in his career with the band. He was the orginal creative force behind the band, and the work he did with them was brilliant.
My favourite song from this era would have to be See Emily Play. It has a psychedelic vibe, yet it still works well as a pure pop song. A great tune. Check it out if you have not heard it yet.

Sadly, they had no choice but to replace him. And I think his replacement was abso-bloody-brilliant.
But my favorite Syd song (I confess to not being much of a Syd-era fan) would probably be Jugband Blues

Either "Astronomy Domine" (raw, majestic) or "Bike" (playful, dreamy) do the job for me. Uhm... yes, "See Emily Play" is another great one.

Shine on You crazy Diamond
Remember when you were young,
You shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes,
Like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire
Of childhood and stardom,
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target
For faraway laughter,
Come on you stranger,
You legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon,
You cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night,
And exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome
With random precision,
Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver,
You seer of visions,
Come on you painter,
You piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Pink Floyd? Hmm. Very good band. Not that much into them though. I do have The Wall though, I really that album. Other than that, the song "Wish You Were Here" is real good.

All of them. Syd was so great. He was crazy, but he knew what do do with his madness (I call that a genius).
As a BIG fan of Syd, I think "See Emily play", "Jugband blues" and "Lucifer Sam" are three of the greatest songs. But THE GREATEST is "Astronomy Domine".

I love See Emily Play, and Bike.
See Emily Play is at the top of my list however. The first time I heard that song it reminded me of so many Jim Morrison songs I have heard before it. Same kind of vibe to it.
I had never heard these songs until I bought Echoes, which is a great compilation of Pink Floyd greatest songs.

"Astronomy Domine" is my favourite from when he was in Pink Floyd. One of the greatest songs he ever did imo. I like "Bike" also and "Arnold Layne".
I only have his "Barrett" album, and from that "Baby Lemonade" is my favourite.
