Anyone notice that everyone who's heard Avril Lavigne either hates her or loves her? I think she sounds terrible live, but I like her songs.
What do you all think?

That's a good question -- I have so many friends that have very definite opinions about her, although none of them really revolve around her music. Most people love her for her style/outspoken behaviour/refusal to conform/anti-Britney qualities etc., or they hate her because all of that makes her seem like a "poser" or something. I don't know. I don't really listen to her all that much, while my boyfriend does, and he and I are both split on our opinions. I respect what she's doing for popular music and the singer/songwriter genre, but I don't really like her music.

Don't understand? Do you mean she sounds like the Beach Boys?

I cant stand Avril Lavigne.She has been created as an alternative for kids who dont like boy/girl bands.

Well... I must say she's not that bad, I mean I don't listen to her music because it's not my style but she's okay.

To put it politely, I don't like her or her music. I've read and heard that she's rude to fans and / or has an attitude in general to anyone. Whether it's true or not, I still don't like her or her music. The so called "Punk" look/attitude/music that she sports isn't authentic, it's a severe distortion of what the word and movement started out as. BUT, I do admit though, that her music is definitely better than Britney and Christina's. The attitude, as opposed to dressing scantily, isn't. Both are negative. (If the rumor of an attitude is indeed a fact)
