Beatles in my life
I shall never describe how much The Beatles influenced my life. When i had heard "A hard day's night" album for the first time (I was 16), i was really surprised: something so old, so familiar, so nice! And strangely enough it seemed like i heard it before, but i never had. I daresay it maybe isn't the world's greatest music, but is the most pleasant and cheerul.
The first albums i came across weere "Abbey road" and "A hard day's night". To tell the truth the first impression weren't the biggest, but i didn't understand the words that time.
I think, there is something magical in every song they made. I still have such a marvellous feeling, like something is lifting you to the sky, when listening to their songs. Some of them, like " Goodday sunshine" and "Here comes the sun" used to help me out of deep depressions.
The Beatles had impressed me so much that i learned English and entered the University. I would have hardly had enough endevour and patience to study all grammar, phonetics and lexis (because i'm too lazy), if there hadn't been The Beatles.
Most of all i like their early songs, generally before "Revolver"; they seem to be more lively and exciting. But actually i enjoy every album.
Maybe i'm too sensitive and have a chip on my shoulder, but many of their songs upset me much, i mean lyrics, such as "I'm a loser", "Help!", "Nowhereman", "I'm only sleeping", "Strawberry fields", "Glass onion" and John's "Isolation", "Crippled inside", "Oh my love", "How?", Steel & glass", Watching the wheels", "My life", "I don't wanna face it", "Borrowed time" and so on. The music is wonderful, but lyrics sometimes drive me crazy, as if someone read your own thoughts. Or those stories about Araminta Ditch and Elsie ("Last will and testicle"). Such self-pity used to hurt ansd irritate me. I suggest it was written about short-sightness. So it inspired me to have done the laser operation on my eyes. If there hadn't been those songs, i'd have hardly had courage and resoluteness for that business. It wasn't easy. But i had nothing to lose. So now i have the whole world. I feel calmer about everything and i'm really enjoing the life (for the last year especially). The world is so beautiful and fantastically real!
So i wish to say a big THANK YOU to The Beatles, for what they changed in my life and for the happiness they brought to me!

Ah... this is the power of poetry. Lyrics are poetry to music. Some aspect of those songs resonated with you at an emotional level, in the same way that poets use words and images that touch your heart.
 Welcome aboard.

Yes,i agree with you.Perhaps in a year or two i'll have changed my mind about those songs. It's just one year's mood, but too strong to keep inside. It's no good to have no opinion, but my own. I've never thought their lyrics to be bad, i respect them very much. I suppose songs mustn't be always funny or soapy, it should have a response to your heart, though it's the most sad and gloomy. Now it's too much in the contrary way, but i wouldn't have come here, if i hadn't liked it .
