they should be more quiet. is not really amusing to hear a guy say heīs lennon reincarnated. it diminishes the value of their music....

I get all your points, I really do. I just can say that in my position, I've always took their declaration more lightly than people normally do. For example, that lennon reincarnation thingie, when I read it I just smiled and I thought of his son, I thought of how Liam's always said he loved John, and I thought of how I used to say I'm that person reincarnation, just because I liked that person. So, really not so out of schemes for me. As for their behaviour, I agree with you, it may be out going and not appreciable... it's just I like that aspect of them too, it is for sure fake, but I kind of like that side of their being rock star, just overdoing that

The ALL AROUND THE WORLD video also reminded me of Monty Python's cartoon segments, drawn by Terry Gilliam. Very absurd.

The songs you mentioned are all great. STAND BY ME has nice chord progressions and that great line "Ate a meal and threw it up on Sunday" .... there's also the beautiful DON'T GO AWAY and the catchy GIRL IN THE DIRTY SHIRT. MAGIC PIE also rocks. It's packed full of good songs! How could it be so reviled?

Just thought I'd quote this from the Philly Enquirer

This time, Noel Gallagher dissects the Beatle's 'Rain' to create two captivating anthems, the trippy 'The Hindu Times' and the psychedelic '(Probably) All in the Mind.' Noels 'She is in Love' and Liam's 'Songbird' are simple acoustic ditties
enhanced by lifting arrangements cribbed from Rubber Soul. Liam' s other contributions - the magical mystery tour (deb notes. I' m not making this up!)
of 'Born Under a Different Cloud' and the Plastic Ono Band style 'Better Man' - are
pure Lennon, and Liam has the vocal sneer to back them up.

i wonder what paul and ringo think of this;
has anyone seen any declarations from them about this group and their "hommages"?
i really would love to know if any of you ever read anything about any oasis meeting or relationship with any of the the beatles (if there was ever one).

George didn't like them.

I still like "The Hindu Times" and "Wonderwall."

I simply love Wonderwall and I admire their work(they were characterized as the Beatles of the 90's) but I don't find that Liam has the right to judge people because his life wasn't any better. The part that I don't like in Oasis is the life full of debaucheries that they're leading

Yesterday (all my trouble seemed so far away...), I heard a Inerview with Noel on radio. OK, I found great, that he thinks EMINEM is rubbish, but anyway.
He said also that he loves the White Album (and love the Beatles' music),but when he would meet John Lennon, he would found, that he's a ashole. Sorry, HE thinks this....

I find Oasis to be really tiresome.
I only like 2 of their songs:

Whatever
Don't Look Back In Anger

Their songs seem to have this kind of dirge repetitiveness. They've got to go "outside" if they want to stop being repetitive.

Well I love them and their music makes me feel good and it makes sense to me and moves me and their words are good. I don't find a lot of it repetitive - although Noel himself said a while back that he was finding it hard to come up with new tunes. I think their new album proved that has come to an end.
Music that repeats itself and needs to step "outside".....to me that is The Verve (although I do like them), U2 (although I sorta like them too) and Hootie and the Blowfish (they suck...are they even still around???).

I've been to a music-festival, yesterday. Oasis performed also (I actually went to the festival 'cause Oasis came...)
There were maaaany Oasisfans( for me it seemed to be millions). First I was very close to the stage (third line or something). But then came so many people and we all standed so close to each other that I could not move anymore, so I couldn't go away, to a place where less people standed. When Oasis began to play it was terrible(not the music, but the audience). I could almost not breath anymore. It was a real fight there! And everyone was taller than me(OK almost everyone). So it was really not very funny...
I tried to get out but it was impossible. I just could shout "Help", so the security-people could get me out and I could go somewhere, where less people were.
But the concert was really great and I had fun!
