What ten George songs are your favorite?
Beatle or solo- what are your top ten?

Here Comes the Sun
My Sweet Lord
Here Comes the Sun and My Sweet Lord are the two greatest songs of the whole century, of the 20th century. If you threw every other song from the whole century at those two songs, those two would win every time. They would be in the top ten songs of history. A Beatles song should make it, but ... not sure there's room.
Hottest Gong in Town
All Those Years Ago
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Something
If Not for You (Bob, but I don't like Bob's version)
Give Me Love
Blow Away
Shanghai Surprise

These are always tough and change from time to time, I'll stick to the solo years and in no particular order:
My Sweet Lord
Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp
Blow Away
Marwa Blues
Mystical One
Don't Let Me Wait Too Long
Cheer Down
Crackerbox Palace
You
This Is Love

1. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Anthology version)
2. Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)
3. Fish On The Sand
4. Here Comes The Sun
5. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)
6. Blow Away
7. What Is Life?
8. Something
9. All Things Must Pass
10. For You Blue
Quite frankly, HC I have many more to add but since you asked for 10 I was thinking of my definitive for this week. I have broken out all my GH music and the box set and have been celebrating him since the beginning of this month, though I always do anyway. I just can't with this top 10...I've left so many out you see...

Ugh... this is so hard. A few of the songs are always in my Top Ten, and a few go in and out... anyway, here is my current Top Ten:
- My Sweet Lord
- Here Comes the Sun
- I Need You
- Be Here Now
- Within You, Without You
- Beware of Darkness
- Long, Long, Long
- I'd Have You Anytime
- If I Needed Someone
- Something
I just want to add that I think George was an incredibly soulful songwriter. When he wrote a beautiful song, it wasn't just beautiful... it was profoundly beautiful.

I'm suspecting a lot of your other choices might come from the first half of the 20th century (20's, 30's, 40's?)!

I love seeing the unexpected songs on your lists, you guys! :) That's one of the most fun parts of reading through the choices.

Pretty much in order of preference...
1. Isn't it a pity
2. Photograph
3. Stuck inside a cloud
4. Savoy Truffle
5. Blue Jay Way
6. Sour milk sea (Jackie Lomax version, with George playing on it)
7. It's all too much
8. Distance makes no difference (with love) (with Carl Perkins)
9. Woman don't you cry for me
10. Wrack my brain

Awaiting on You All
Blow Away
Brainwashed
Dark Sweet Lady
Dear One
Here Comes the Sun
I Want to Tell You
It's All Too Much
Soft Touch
What is Life
And this bonus - George's stellar cover with the Beatles - "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You!" That is my FAVORITE song from "A Hard Day's Night" and although John wrote it, George made this fun number his with his stellar treatment of it.

Tough because I could put the whole of "Cloud 9", "All Things Must Pass" and the "George Harriosn" album in there, but here's my Top 10 songs (for today as they'll probably chnage tomorrow!):
"Microbes"
"My Sweet Lord"
"Beware of Darkness"
"All Things Must Pass"
"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)"
"The Light That Has Lighted the World"
"Living in the Material World"
"Ding Dong, Ding Dong"
"That's The Way It Goes"
"Dream Away"
