George Harrison's Sister Carries on Beatles Legacy
Louise Harrison's "Keeping Music Alive" program brings the Fab Four to life at schools across the country. The Liverpool Legends will perform at Lemont High School at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.To millions of Beatles fans across the globe, Louise Harrison is referred to affectionately as "the flying mum."Harrison is the older sister of the late George Harrison, who — along with bandmates Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Ringo Starr — rose to worldwide fame with the Beatles in the 1960s.At the time, Louise Harrison was living in Illinois with her husband. Before the band made it big in the United States, she went from radio station to radio station, begging producers to play the Beatles' records. Now, nearly 50 years later, Harrison carries on her brother's legacy through a Beatles tribute band, the Branson, MO-based "Liverpool Legends." Since 2006, the band has been performing songs spanning the entire career of the Beatles, as well as the band members' solo years.

I met Louise on a couple of occasions. She was always cordial and willing to talk about George.

I love Lou stories. I would love to meet her. Bless her for being a French girl - so social and willing to talk. She's Louise French Harrison all over again.
Talk has it she's penning her memoirs. I am eagerly awaiting her book!

I wonder if the title of her book will be "With Love From Lou to You."

I hope she tells a lot about growing up, little incidental things. I'd love to know more little anecdotes about Lou and Harold, Snr. :)

So would I! I love Harrison stories and I really loved reading letters and postcards George sent as a young person.
George, 2 in the loving arms of his only sister on V-E day, 1945 really looked like Louise French! George had the French nose like Louise and her dad, John French Sr. In that seashore picture with Harold Sr. and his lookalike son, Peter, George, then about 11 really looked French. The boy had the French nose! And the French intensity.
It is plain that Harold Sr. and Lousie were good people and they were blessed with a family they raised well.
