Re: New song \"Freedom\"
I actually don't know how that works, but you will be able to get the song anyway. I can also e-mail it to anyone who wants it.

I thought "Freedom" was okay, not the best thing Paul's ever done lyrically, but definitely got the point across, and that's what really matters, yes? And it was nice to hear everyone joining in, which is what a good song of that type is supposed to do!! I am sure it'll be released somehow...

Agreed once again!-
I didn't think the melody was the best in
"Freedom" either, compared to alot of the
other "Paul works", but as you said, the
point carries itself across nicely and I
especially like it when Paul holds the word
"Freeeeedom" down! "Way to go Paul, but I
wouldn't mind hearing a "For no One" or
"Penny Lane" next time along with the newer
as well as more eclectic stuff like "I'm Down".

Re: New song \"Freedom\"
i didn't like it much... I thought Paul should have done a medley of Give Peace a Chance/All You Need is love instead.

Re: New song \"Freedom\"
A Medley of "Give Peace A Chance" and "All You Need Is Love" would have been nice except for 2 things:
1. Paul didn't write either of those songs, John did.
(not that he couldn't have played them anyway, but those 2 songs are John's "babys"
AND
2. Given the crowd's response to Richard Gere earlier in the evening (When he talked about taking all this energy and using it for love and compassion, not vengence and retribution) I am not so sure "peace/love" songs would have gone over to well, in a crowd of people, with many who just lost their loved ones in a horrible dastardly way on Sept. 11....

Re: New song \"Freedom\"
I don't think that love and peace needs to be the message to terrorists and murderers,
but to the majority of freedom seeking people of the planet,
it has as much of a message now as
it had 30 years ago.
Revenge seems to be the top issue on most peace loving people,
but without love of
God and man, we are no better than the evil we fight.
and in the end...

Re: New song \"Freedom\"
p.s.
who cares that Paul didn't write them.
just because he wrote mostly
silly love songs, he was
still a Beatle wasn't he?
i am he as you are me etc...

Re: New song \"Freedom\"
[/b][/quote]I also feel that it wouldn't
have mattered if Paul did a "John song",
but I understand both arguments. As a writer
myself, I feel that if Paul did his song
"Freedom" that possibly led into a song like
"Give Peace a Chance", that would have been
pretty compelling. Plus I feel doing something like that would have also paid
tribute in a sense "to" John-- something
I think folks missed when the J.L. tribute
was on recently--(just my opinion).

Can you tell me how I can go to your folder or whatever to get the song?

Everest, if you're not a member with Audiogalaxy, you won't be able to download it. When you sign up, you have to download their satellite first. After that you can pick anything they have. The satellite will find the closest terminal to your computer that has the song and start downloading it.
