More Random George thoughts...
Since this day is so appropriate, why don't we have some random thoughts in George's honour?
Check out this issue of Guitar World. It has a whole article on the making of Brainwashed with Dhani Harrison!
Also, today I just want to stay at home to show my respect for George, but they picked today, of all days, to go to Butterfly World and a concert. I love concerts, but why not another day? It's as if they're trying to make me forget! also, when i tried to explain, they just said no i have to come.

Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I get on my knees and pray...

His Rutles references in Anthology to the guys having "tea" in the limo before meeting Elvis.
And there was another occasion where he used it again, but I can't remember where I'd heard it.
Wasn't George just too damn cute and clever for words?

Re: More Random George thoughts...
George was a very deep, profound thinker.
He continues to remain a very interesting person.
George was the only Beatle who had wavy hair and for years, I have been wild about that hair.
George has been a good influence on me for many years and remains a strong influence on me to this day.

Re: More Random George thoughts...
George seems like a very centered person...
He had gorgeous hair...
Next to John he was the hottest thing moving in Help...
I wish to be as religiously satisfied as George was...

Re: More Random George thoughts...
I think George was the hottest thing in Help!
George had the best head of hair. Boy, I just LOVE that hair!
His spiritual quest made me more appreciative and aware of my own spirituality.
I used to wish I was like George when I was growing up -- he was so cool, so together and he did not appear to get bogged down by trivialities. I always thought he was so together and I love his "subtle" humor. George could be REALLY funny and I think he was brilliant and a very profound thinker. He was a self-taught man and that is all the more reason to respect him.
My favorite song, I Want to Tell You is one that says so much for me. Believe me, I can completely relate to the lyrics of that song.

Re: More Random George thoughts...
Remember that Dhani mentioned he placed "Stuck Inside a Cloud" as song 7 because the song was his favorite track. Interestingly, later, Dhani mentions "Brainwashed" as his favorite. With such a great CD, it's hard to chose! How difficult a survivor game would be!!!!!

I am glad Dhani is his own person and I am very glad he is here.
The new CD Brainwashed is like a gift from George, et al. It really is.
Well said, Magill. I have the limited edition of Brainwashed and I do think of it as being a gift from George. He'll always be a part of our lives.

Re: More Random George thoughts...
Brainwashed was my early and my best Christmas present this year. I can't think of anything that could possibly top a gift like this from one of my favorite recording artists and human beings. He was so great! I sure do miss him. *

Re: More Random George thoughts...
I'm so upset that I haven't been Brainwashed yet...
But George was truly one of a kind...his music just calms me and gives me focus. I cherish all the music I have of his.

Re: More Random George thoughts...
I have often wondered if John and Paul were threatened by George's talent. John once said he never liked George's singing voice and Paul had said that George wrote daft things. Now, we all know this to be contrary. George wasn't the one who wrote "daft" things, Paul. AHEM! And John, I love you to death, but were you hearing impaired as well? George's singing puts me spiritually at peace. It's soothing to my ears, as well as to my soul. It's lovely. And his writings are truthful and real. I wonder what John would have thought and what Paul now thinks of Brainwashed. Hmmm...

Re: More Random George thoughts...
I believe the longer the Beatles existed, the closer the quality of Harrisongs got to Lennon/McCartney songs. And before you all start, I mean to the average public.
Would The Beatles have lasted longer, I think it would have been a threat yes. At least the number of Harrisongs to be on an album would have increased.
I wonder if John meant those words as you describe, I have read some good comments of John on the All Things Must Pass album. What he said about the Living In The Material album being too much of a Gospel album; well, isn't it?
What Paul said, well fine with me, George hardly made comments on the others' work, but I bet in his gardens he will have told the trees what he thought of that.

Re: More Random George thoughts...
By far, George is the Beatle that I most relate to. His cherishing of privacy and his spirituality have always stricken a chord with me. I am a fan of the Fabs solo music as well as the recordings they did together, but out of all of them, I like George's solo stuff the best, actually. I have owned all of his CDs, something I cannot say of John, Paul, and Ringo, although I do like their music, too...

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Ditto! His spirituality made me aware of and more appreciative of my own. As much as I love Paul, I DO have all of solo George. I think George was very intense, very profound and a very deep thinker.
