Anybody watch 127 Hours?

Just wow.

If you haven't, I recommend it. Such an amazing and inspiring story. Even though we know how it ends, the director just has a way to keep the suspense in the air, as well as keep you entertained despite the movie mainly taking place at one "boring" location. Overall, I think the movie makes you question destiny, fate and faith, all through another's eyes.

Warning though: There is a gorey scene...but, I feel like it's needed to understand the pain the guy went through at that moment in his life. If you don't like it, just cover your eyes and make it till the end to witness a rebirth.

See the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5oTlfCGWKE

I was interested in seeing it until I heard about the gorey scene of which you mentioned. The idea of it all would be too intense for me, from the isolation in being stuck, to that scene. Scary movies don't keep me up at night but intense emotional movies do.

Side Note: I was Close Encounters of the Third Kind for the first time yesterday, there are a few plot holes but I really liked it. The visual effects have aged very well, it didn't look hokey or dated.

Winter's Bone-makes me glad to be a Californian. I know I could never live that kind of back woods country lifestyle.

Sorry to hear that HeyBeatle. :( But it is an emotionally intense movie and I understand your reasoning for not wanting to see it. Sometimes, it can be hard to sit through. BUT! If it was cause of the gore part, I would tell you to dismiss that fact and watch it! haha.

Overall, it's upsetting to see people get turned off on this movie because it was sadly characterized to be gorey. If anything, the only gorey scene lasts about 3 minutes, maybe less. People shouldn't expect "Saw" or something.

But since we are on the topic of James Franco, last movie I watched was "Pineapple Express." Ha...

I just saw Jane Eyre in theaters, I really enjoyed it. It's probably one of the best interpretations of a novel on film (at least in my experience) because it stayed true to the story, save for a few inconsequential things. Also Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender had a nice chemistry with one another.

Legends Of the Guardians: The Owls Of Ga' Hoole

Script is average but the animation and action sequences are superb. Besides, if you love and appreciate Owls - I certainly do - you and the family should enjoy this film.

Actually saw two tonight.....

"Hop" with Russel Brand. Good Holiday movie. Word of advice.... watch out for the Ninja Bunnies and the scheming chick Carlos.

"Huntin' Buddies" with Tim Conway, Mel Tillis, and Tom Lester (Eb from Green Acres). Hilarious comedy. Darn near wet my pants laughing.

Want a good laugh? Then watch these two.

Howl's Moving Castle - Next to "Spirited Away" and "Princess Mononoke" this is my favorite Myazaki film. It's so beautiful.

I love Myazaki films, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away are my favorites too. Have you seen Ponyo yet, it's entertaining.

Ponyo is cute. So are Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totorro.

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood ~

Great music from George's friend T-Bone and also a song from Bob. I didn't know Ashley Judd was so pretty. She's really beautiful!

BTW, I think Christian Bale's voice was sexy as Howl.

The King's Speech, I loved it. I can understand why it won Best Picture, it has Oscar material written all over it, but it wasn't unenjoyable like some Oscar material can be (at least for me).

Megamind - Cute movie. There's a dance number with a Michael Jackson song at the end.
