Default Ticket To Ride book

I came across this 2003 book Ticket To Ride: Inside the Beatles 1964 Tour that changed the World by Larry Kane on the Net. Mr. Kane was a young journalist who toured with the group. According to reviews, he does not indulge too much into their personal relationships. He does state that the roadie Mal made sure the groupies they slept with weren't underage, mentally unbalanced, or hookers.
Critics can say what they want about their sexual antics, at least they weren't perverts. Has anyone read it? Did you like it?

I have an autographed copy of that book from the 2003 Beatles' convention. Kane is a delightful personality and a gifted raconteur. I saw him at the Barnes & Noble in Chicago (just a train ride away) and several times giving talks at the hotel. At the bookstore, you got bonus stories that he didn't tell at the hotel.

We had an interesting conversation about Dodge Darts that afternoon (a few people remained after the main talk and it was a nice, small group)

Small world I live in Chicago. I read on Amazon, he hints at flings by John with Joan Baez and Jayne Mansfield. What was your impression of the book?

I recently checked the book out, I like it, unlike other biographies, it's not the same old repetitive stuff fans already know a thousand times over. It's fresh and interesting, told from the POV of an insider and friend. Cool unknown tidbits, like the Beatles phoning the ward of injured fans and sending flowers. NICE.

I thought it was a good book. I believe author has another book out that focuses on John.

There might be more discussion about this book in the Paperback Writer forum.
