Whenever I hear a Rat Packer doing a Beatles' song, I just cringe. I also can't stand the execrable Chipmunks' abuse of Beatle songs. They sound slightly worse than Karen Carpenter's atrocious covers.

I liked the Carpenters' cover of "Ticket to Ride."
At the moment, I like Aerosmith's cover of "Come Together" more than the original.

I was thinking about that this morning too, and maybe it's just me, but I can't think of many Beatle covers, by anyone that don't suck. Maybe one or two by Richie Havens, but there are literally thousands out there and they just don't cut it. It's funny too that the Carpenters covered Klatuu's "Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft" and Klatuu at the time was thought to be the Beatles (for about a minute) during all of the 1976 reunion hype.

p.s. I just lasted ~15 seconds into a cover of "And Your Bird Can Sing" by Susanna Hoffs (Bangles), and that's because the intro was 10 seconds long. Good lord.

My oldest son doesn't like the Love album. Mostly because the songs aren't in chronological order and they are remixed. It might have to do with his autism. He likes things to be in order.

I've been meeting lots of Beatles' fans lately and they're all so nice. I wonder where were they before, I thought I was the only one in my town. x)

Was just listening to George and Paul Simon singing "Here Comes the Sun" together (a very great duet version) and it reminded me of reading that when George had not been able to find a lyric to fit into the place in "Something" where "no other lover" ended up, John gave him advice and told him to plug in a word for the time being, like "some cauliflower"......

Whenever I listen to early Beatles' songs, I can undersand exactly why they were such a success, even though I can't put it into words.

I did this once!! I was on a book store and right next to me there was this girl, she was wearing a Beatles shirt and had a Beatles pin on her bag. I just started talking with her out of the blue, which is weird because usually I am extremely shy. But it was nice, until today she is one of my greatest friends. (:
