Default Boston Beatlefest

I just ordered my tickets for Boston Beatlefest today. Pioneers who will be attending the first ever Beatlefest in Boston will be celebrating from 11/1/02 - 11/3/02. I can't wait -- I know other Beatle Linkers will be there.

Yippee! Can't wait!

Hey BB! Haven't ordered my tickets yet (I'm trying to get my mom to come this year), but I'm planning on it. At least they're not having another mandatory donation night. Hope to see you there!

Sorry, BB, I'm already scheduled to attend a science fiction/fantasy convention that weekend. Hope you have a good time!

Congratulations on the sci-fi convention, Sandra. I'm sorry you won't be there, but I am so glad I met you in Chicago!

L4,

I think you ought to submit your artwork to RS.

You can go to the Beatlefest website -- www.beatlefest.com and email them. You can charge the tickets if you call them at 1-800-Beatles, or you can send them a check and a SASE, which will save you the handling charges on the tickets.

It's not difficult, you can always call them for information, they're very nice.

I called 1-800-BEATLES (1-800-232-8537) and ordered my tickets with a Mastercard.

Telephone - shortest distance between two points when you don't want to put your Mastercard on line.

What's a SASE? I spent a fortune on ticket handling charges for Chicago. I don't want to pay for those if I don't have to. Please let me know, thanks.

That's less than seven weeks!

So, what can we bring in to be able to carry around all the goodies we expect to buy? Do they search you? Cameras are allowed, yes? Water bottles?

In Chicago, folks brought in ice chests full of beer for the under the stairs songfests. I know because I was resting against one and whenever the owner of the ice cooler requested a beer, I'd open it and pass beers to him and his friends.

Word to the wise -- never order your plane tickets on priceline.com. I found out recently. Also, since plane food is between nil and inedible, I bring my own food (fruit, veggies and a sandwich) instead. (On both flights I took, the flight from my city the connecting flight on to Chicago) all the airline served was those tired little pretzel bits. I don't eat those and let my seat mate have them while I ate food I brought from home.

Another strategy is to stock up on the free water bottles they provide on the plane. Then when you get settled in your destination, you have bonus water and can add ice to it once you are in your hotel. Those small airplane bottles of water are easy to tote around. I had about half a dozen of them when I flew to Chicago.

I saw folks eating during the fest - I ate a fruit breakfast in my room and for dinner, I was lucky to have some wonderful people to go out with.

Cameras are allowed, at least they have been in the past. You can probably bring a totebag and a water bottle...and you should get shopping bags from most of the vendors when you buy stuff.

Let's find out how many Beatlelinkers will be there, and we can take another group photo to send to Jerry!

Sadly, I cannot go. I don't feel like going to Boston by myself, and my mother has other plans. Oh well...maybe I'll make the NJ one in March.

What a bummer, Lennon4! Isn't there any way you could join us in Boston at all? I was really looking forward to seeing you there! Since you said you don't want to travel alone, try to think of it as traveling to others! I sure hope you can work something out and come to Boston with us!

Please come to Boston...

#1- I'd been to the Chicago 'fest five years in a row before this year when I traveled alone. I knew my way there by way of observation. I've never been to Boston at all, so I don't fancy going there alone for the first time.

#2- I don't have the funds really. Chicago really wipes me out, and if I'm planning on going again next year (which I am), I shouldn't be blowing it on "lesser" fests.

Don't get me wrong...I'd really hoped I could go, but it's just not going to work out. I can live with it, though.

I'll be there for the whole weekend, I'm a guest! I'll be moderating discussion forums on fan fiction, and helping run a poetry/fiction coffeehouse on Sunday evening.

Hope any and all Beatlelinkers will stop by to say hello -- I should have a table wherever they put the guests...
