Default NYC Beatlefest

Ok so it's about seven months away but all this excitement over the Chicago Beatlefest is making me even more excited. I'll be going to my first Beatlefest at the upcoming 2002 NYC Beatlefest and I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. Is anyone out there intending on going?

HeyBeatle, I know how you feel. I felt the same way before the first Beatlefest I went to. When the eventful day arrived, I tried to see everything there. Trust me, you'll have a splendid time. I guarantee it!

If it's the one in Jersey that they call the NY Metro Beatlefest I might be there with my band.

When and if the time comes, I'll let you know what song we will do as you have to register a song so there aren't repeats.

How many fans are on these fests in general?

I know of some European ones and I always visit the Dutch one, but the numbers are so differing.

I have no idea how many people attend these things but it must be a lot because I've read about the hotel it's at selling out of rooms along with neighborring hotels.

I don't know what the attendance total was for Chicago this year, but we've had as many as 8000 for the three day convention. I would estimate that we had somewhere around 6000 this year.

I wish I could have increased the attendance by one.

Me, too, BB1964. Had to believe that it all started in 1974 with about 2000 fans.

If all goes well, I will be at the NY/NJ fest in March -- hopefully as a guest doing my fanfic panels again! If not that, definitely at least one of the days as an attendee.

BTW, if you intend on staying at the hotel HeyBeatle, make sure you book your room the DAY they go on sale in September or they won't have any and you'll be in an overflow hotel...they generally sell out in a few hours because the hotel is so small.

Do you just ask them to reserve a hotel room when you buy your tickets? Or is it a two step process? And also what day do tickets go on sale because though it might be a case of me just not seeing it I haven't been able to find the exact date.

No,you have to call the HOTEL in September -- Crowne Plaza Meadowlands in Secaucus, NJ. Tix to the fest go on sale in February sometime. Go to the Beatlefest website, they should have info, or call 1-800-Beatles and talk to someone there about what to do re the hotel and when tix for the fest will go on sale.

Tickets to the fest have nothing to do with reserving your room, and you should have time enough to cancel it if you should not be able to go, but be SURE to reserve the room the day they go on sale or you won't get in.

Hope this helps!

Just FYI - according to the Beatlefest site, the NY Metro Beatlefest will be March 8-10, 2002 at the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands in Secaucus. That's all the info on the page right now, though if you call they might know a bit more...give it a week, though, so they have time to recover from Chicago!!

That's what I figured, they need alittle time to clean up house after Chicago before addressing NYC.

HeyBeatle, you should have a great time at 'fest. I was at the NY/NJ one many years ago. It was great to visit my pals and to finally see New York, but to honestly tell you there's no place like home. Just make your own fun and you'll have a ball!
