Default A Must Have! -The Beatles Complete Scores-

For those of you who have this book, you'll know exactly what I mean. 'The Beatles Complete Scores' has been the most helpful book for me, as a Beatle-musician (haha...right?).

Anyway, I highly suggest this book for those who want/like to know everything about the Beatles' music, and how to play it.

I'd also like to know if anyone who owns a copy has noticed any mistakes? I don't have it with me at the moment, but there are some songs where either the lyrics or notes are clearly wrong. Why would they print something that's obviously incorrect?

I have a copy packed away at the moment. I'll have to check and see on the errors.

As for letting the errors slip through, the publishers need to find a better proofreader.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Oh yeah, I totally agree with you - awesome book and extremely helpful, particularly if you don't have the time (me) or the ear to pick the parts out on your own.

But yeah, there are quite a few mistakes (try the lyrics on "AHDN" for one) here and there. I think part of the problem is that in some cases they started with old sheet music that was wrong and in other cases it's just a matter of people hearing things differently. You can't take this book as the "Beatle Bible" (which is how my instructor sarcastically refers to it) and you can't sacrifice your own ear, but as a reference point, it's invaluable.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I know a LOT of people who refer to it as that, actually. And it is, if you compare it to the other Beatles guitar/piano books, which are always incorrect.

from what i've been told, the scores written by a group of japanese musicians who transposed the songs by ear. naturally, mistakes would be inevitable (hey, i certainly couldn't listen to japanese songs and write the lyrics down! i probably couldn't listen to english songs and write the words down!) as for mistakes in the music, they could very well be a printer's error.

in any case, i still love the book and highly recommend it as rell said, this book is not the "beatle bible," but it is a very good guide. definately worth getting, IMO.

I've owned this book for a few years and I think of it as my bible. But yes, I have noticed some mistakes too.

Despite its few mistakes I think it's worth of every cent.
