5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
Which 5 Harrisongs do you love most to play on guitar?
To me they are
1. Life Itself
because it has so many different guitar parts, just playing the chords there are about 3 ways, then all the slide and solo parts, it's just wonderful to do.
2. Here Comes The Sun
has been a favorite for as long as I can play guitar
3. This Is Love
whereas it is my favorite Harrisong. Slide part is wonderful too.
4. Handle With Care
because it's based on four basic chords, but in George kind of way played around with, as you guitarists will know
5. All Things Must Pass
again, for the use of the chords in this special way.

Re: 5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
This one is tough but I'll give it a try.
1. Run Of The Mill
The best song ever written from the best album ever made. This song (has nothing tricky about it ) sounds great with an acoustic guitar. I play it weekly and I know it by heart.
2. Blow Away
Amazing how good song can be made with the same few chords. If I had more patience I'd learn the slide guitar riffs too.
3. Let It Down
Since the release of remastered ATMP this song has been one of my favorites to play with the guitar. Actually it's very easy to get it sound like the demo George did. I posted the chords here few days ago if someone wants to try. A beautiful song.
4. Learning How To Love You
Again, an easy song and good to play with an acoustic in the middle of the night. The melody gives me shivers.
5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
The Anthology version folks, the Anthology version. I'm not that good of a player that I could try to copy Old Clapper. Just put the capo on 5th fret of your acoustic and let go.

Re: 5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
I've tried to teach myself all of the Beware of ABCKO (ATMP demos/outtakes) stuff. I love to play Art of Dying, Cosmic Empire, If Not For You, and Hear Me Lord for treating my electric like an acoustic with that special feedback feel.

1.I'd Have You Anytime....Great opening chord sequence
2.Apple Scruffs..........Good time rocker
3.All Things Must Pass......... another great sounding song
4.Run So Far......that opening riff very melodic song
5.Devil and The Deep Blue Sea.......Someday I'll master this one LOL!
These are just current or recently played songs but they are fun to play.
Here's a place to find some of these chords and tabs http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/...eorge_tabs.htm Have fun.

Re: 5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
Anything by George but heres what I can play,
Here Comes the Sun - Those first notes always seem to fill a room with magic.
If I Needed Someone-The Perfect 60s song
My Guitar Gently Weeps-The perfect guitar song
Handle With Care - Georges understated underatrated slide work.
Any Road - Fun song to play but lots of words to remember.
I really love Devil and the Deep Blue Sea but havent quite nailed it yet either.
Listen to Tom Pettys Man who Loved Women, almost identical song. * *

Re: 5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
I love them all bt I guess some of my favourites are:
1)Beware of Darkness
I love the melody, the G#min -C#min chords in the middle and the weird ending
2)Your love is forever
I know this was written in open D but I have worked out a way of playing it in standard tuning which sounds OK (can't fathom the solo though)
3)All things must pass
4)Hear me Lord
I play this with lots of distortion
5)While my guitar gently weeps
This must be one of the greatest songs ever best played in an electric acoustic version (if that makes sense) with lots of chorus. I would love to be able to play Life Itself (one of my favourite Harrisongs) but don't have the chords (does anyone have them.

Re: 5 favorite Harrisongs for guitar
Here are the chords to "Life Itself":
--------------C
You are the One
You are my love
----------------F(addG)
You send the rain and bring the sun
--------------F/G
You stand alone and speak the truth
You are the breath of life itself,
oh yes you are
--------------C
You are the One
You're in my dreams
-------------F(addG)
I hold you there in high esteem
-------------F/G
I need you more each step I take
You are the love in life itself,
oh yes you are
--------------C
You are the One
--------------G
You are the one that I'd die for
-------------F-----------C
And you're all that is real
--------------G
You are the essence of that which
-----F-----------------G
We taste, touch and feel
You are the One
No matter what
You are the real love that I've got
You are my friend and when life's through
You are the light in death itself, oh yes are
You are the One
They call you Christ, Vsnu, Buddha, Jehovah,
Our Lord
You are, Govindam, Bismillah, Creator of All
You are the One
No matter what
You are the real love that I've got
You are my friend and when life's through
You are the light in death itself, oh yes are
You are the One
You are my love
You send the rain and bring the sun
You stand alone and speak the truth
You are the breath of life itself, oh yes you are
You are the breath of life itself, oh yes you are
You are the One
